Mighty Blow jumps to target
Also, you can’t AoE somewhere between mobs anymore. It effectively reduces the range of the damage.
Bah, didn’t think of it like this :/
Before this change I could position myself between ranged and melee mobs to attack all of them with Mighty Blow. Now I can fail this ‘trick’ because my character will jump forward to my target…
Wish it was just the same as last time, but you know, minus the whole cancel when moving part >>

I agree. If moving while casting was allowed on Mighty Blow, the skill would have been better.
I guess ArenaNet wanted a gap closer on the hammer. I think it would be better to either add the leap effect to Zealot’s Embrace, or chain Zealot’s Embrace to a new leap skill.
I found it to be a very nice change, the jump isn’t so large that you’ll overshoot your target, and the ability of having a little gap closer is nice. The hammer feels a lot more fluid now.

If you’re fighting a foe 1-on-1, this new jump effect isn’t much of a problem. I can see PvP players be happy about this change.
In PvE it’s not that uncommon you roll up 3+ mobs into a ball and smack ‘em in the face. If you’re jumping all over the place, it’s quite a bit harder to control your ball of mobs and your aggro.
A gap closer is on the hammer is very possible, but I rather see it done in a combination with Zealot’s Embrace.

Each to their own but having this leap restricts mobility more than it helps imo.
When you use leap it cancels any movement you may be doing and just launches you at the target. At least with the old one i could move out of the way of an attack even if it meant putting the ability on cd. Now im locked into a 500 – 750ms animation which i can’t use whilst running away from a mob.
It’s not even like the leap is that far it pretty much just removes control from the character for 1/2 a second.
Please Anet just make it an ae attack with a small cast time.
oh man i hate that new jump effect. please chain the gap closer to zealot’s embrace..
I just found another issue: I jumped of a cliff unintentionally, because my target was a bit more dead than expected. That issue, is largely my own, but could be solved by fixing the hammer skill. :-)
I absolutely love the jump animation. Makes the hammer feel a lot less clunky in PvP.
Now if they only sped up the auto attack on it and it would be even better.
