Hey all, 6 months into my DH now in roaming WvW and I have the highest lost rate against most competent druids. I can land 90% of my bursts and 75% of my interrupts but still lose the fight =/ They have so much healing…they out-sustain me easily. Their kiting and access to stability and invis makes it hard to interrupt their healing too.

If any top roamer/duelist can help answer my questions below so I can tackle them better, that would be great!

Questions:

  • Power DH or Condi DH works better against them?
  • What is the most optimal power build to fight druids? (Mainly weapon choices, but would appreciate if actual full builds can be shared)
  • When do you use your interrupts?
  • When do you use your gap-closers?
  • When do you burst?

Thanks!

I use Hammer sw/shield (highly effective vs most of builds)

cast Ring of warding -> teleport (JI) -> ToF + MB -> Banish -> Zealot Embrace -> Symbol of Blades + Zealot Defence -> he/she try to heal -> shield 5 shield 4 (probably on 20% hp) One One One One -> chase him down and dont let him heal.

on my soldier stats guard i usually used SW SoA between the druid and the range scales pet, so the pet was 80% not doing damage, still not one could kill each other…since i was using mace and due its nature low damage + slowpoke movement when retreat was in CD.

1st April joke, when gw2 receives a “balance” update.

Medi trapper does a pretty good job here actually. The trick however is to cc it accordingly. Dont just radomly spam all your cc’s at once. Shield and Dragon’s maw are recommanded. Do that and the rest is just keep applying pressure with your sword and bow. Basically a 3 step way: interupt → damage → repeat.

Things you want to look out for mainly is the celestial form. Interupt that asap. Also the warden wall that commes from the staff. Or w/e its called. Dont shoot through that. It will heal him. If he does that, try to land an aoe field on it. Or force him away from it, Cause they ussually (try to) kite you around that wall. Some people seem to have a hard time with the damage comming from the pet. But i personally dont have trouble with that. So i just ignore the pet.
