Ya, it is nice for WvW.
Sadly it likely will never be added to Spvp because it would make it nearly impossible to kite some other classes.
I personally like double fire and air more on medi with traveler runes for wvw but I will certainly give this combination a try
this might be broken with warriors and leg specialist though

I made a ranger. Unfortunately 80 tomes later i realized i hate the play style. And ill have to buy another character slot if i want a guard now. Literally the ONLY reason i didnt roll a guard when i was trying to decide between guard or ranger was because i had nightmares of being kited to death. Of course a few days after i use all my tomes Anet introduces new sigils and runes that solve the problem i was worried about
Ahh Gotcha! well tomes are easy to come by if you keep pvping Guards are extremely extremely strong vs other power classes right now so thats a plus, but can still be kited fairly well with the extra cripple or not :P
Rangers are bawss man you just have to learn the playstyle. Pewpew ranger is boring but BM is fun, wildy/nature with zerk ammy in pvp is hella fun as well. Double melee Zerk can surprise some people in the ole dueling servers
