I need helpful direction. I started playing about 2 weeks ago on a daily basis and have reached lvl 80 much to my surprise (so easy to lvl) in that time.

I’m looking for advice on what gear to buy / save for / or earn .

I’m using the Stickied AH build for now , since it’s a jack of all good in Dungeons/ WvW / pve etc. And I’ve favored the 2 handed weapons most of my time with the toon.

As I went from lvl 75 to 80 in a few hours (hello karma train) I was not prepared yet for my next steps, and am hoping for some timely advice and direction to get prepared to run difficult dungeons and improve my abilities in WvW.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.

Traditional 0/0/30/30/10 is very good to get familiar with Guardian (imo). Then, just run dungeons and stuff and you will figure out what you need and what you do not need.

My personal build is 20/0/10/30/10 playing with my mates but I still run AH build when doing PuGs. When in a organized team, get some vulnerability : it’s pretty effective.
If you are being pretty confident, you will trade Valor traits for anything else (basically Zeal/Radiance in dungeons).
If you are playing Greatsword I suggest you to get the -20% recharge time with 2Handed weapons but it’s not necessary with Hammer.

About the attributes you need … I really play with them all but if you are playing AH and Honor VIII : Empowering Might (highly recommended) go for at least 40% crit chance.

The rest is up to you.

Armor wise I go balanced between Helm, Chest, Legs all in Knights (power precision toughness) and Shoulders, Gloves, Boots all in Berserkers (power precision and crit damange)

I typically use the hammer in dungeons but I am desperately searching for a build that utilizes the AH with a great sword.

What are you trying to accomplish when you play? Are you wanting to focus on producing strong damage, group support or just your own survivability? I am completely heal spec’d. I have all cleric gear and use a mace and shield for most fights. I like the shield for the prot buff to the group and the heal/projectile reflect of the 5 ability. Also, the cooldowns are much better than what the focus offers. My healing is so high that I out heal the damage from most encounters including bosses. The downside to this build is that all my group healing is based at my feet, so others have to be in melee or near melee to benefit from my support. However, if there is a skilled support engineer in the group then our stacked healing is unstoppable. I use the hammer for my other weapon for AOE damage and buffs for AH when the damage incoming isn’t too bad. For fights like Hodges in AC with the burrows I pull out my great sword for more damage. I hope that helps.

Learn how to react when you’re spiked. Guardians have tons of outs for when they’re receiving/about to receive high damage or stacks of conditions, and your survivability depends on not panicking when that happens and calmly executing the blocks or whatever necessary to cancel out the attack. You’ll die more to forgetting to activate savior skills at the appropriate time than anything else.
