Ok, lets come back to the topic, as i have watched and tested by myself, i think that currently, meditation or other kind of dps guardian have a very low win rate to defeat eles (DD) as they have so many shields (aura) and dps output while shileding and moving.
So I post this thread to get opnions and ideas about how to improve the win rates of us in duel with eles , especialy dd ones

D/d ele is somewhat like DPS guard. I think its a pretty even matchup

Its possible I guess but its definately not an even matchup. Try at your own risk.

Ele has always been a decent counter to guard, however Ele has been lacking in past few metas so people kinda forgot about it, now they are viable and a threat again. They are difficult to beat because they are somewhat similar to guards, relying on boons and such. They also have a lot more access to conditions and mobility.

Boon strip work well against them. Searing Flames and Sigil of Nullification.

Have you ever tried playing elementalist? Maybe you’ll have a better understanding and chance at defeating them if you try out the class first. When I went for a dps meditation build beating elementalists was no problem at all. Heal-way guardian can outheal any damage taken from ele too. But a bunker ele will out dps a bunker guardian.

The 6/1/6/0/1 Hybrid build does really well against most ele builds, main thing is to make sure you don’t burst all of your conditions on them until you know if they have Diamond skin or not. If they do just smack them around a bit then condi burst them.

For starters, sky hammer isn’t in the tpvp rotation so you’re fine there.
But what you’re talking about is celestial/strength DD ele with most likely doom/battle sigils (0/0/2/6/6). Yes this is the current bunker power ele (like the old ele from 2012 minus the extreme mobility as before). Your main worry is their might stacking, they can easily hit up to 25 stacks with strength runes and battle sigil so boon stripping is key to fighting them. They also dish out poison from doom so that can really hurt a guards healing capabilities. As long as you strip that might and go in for burns and burst after they leave their water attunement you will supply sufficient pressure to have them on the defensive. Be sure to avoid their fire ring and burning speed as that can stack a lot of
Burning on you and with high might this will hurt. Burning speed alone will hit hard if you are in their path. Manage your blinds and aegis wisely on things such as updraft, earthquake or fire grab. Spare your dodges as well.
Honestly currently main ele counters are Mesmers, thieves and necros with frequent boon strips as, like I said, are the main key to this fight.

Nope, ele will just out-regen your dmg, it’ll be a stalemate until either you or his teammate comes to help

Like I told anet always. Guardian except bunker is useless(in pvp situation) really. dps guardian can’t dps as much as that kinda ele or warrior does, nor healing as ele. gg

Guardian dps is pure burst in PvP, which is why eles can just stall the fight

That crazy ele healing. My guard can take that and even if I switched to all deeps, I still don’t think I could down a decent ele.

I’m not full berserker, I’m Barbarian, to obtain more survavibility against the current condi meta.
Whit the sigil of Doom you reduce the enemy healing ability by 33% for 6 sec every 9 sec and that’s good for a dps class.
I’ve find sometimes good eles that kill me, but frequently I kill eles, I only take a lot of time to kill.
A ele that know elle it’s class, all it’s combo and play spvp frequently is unkillable whit a dps guardian, but a common ele user can be killed.
The problem is that you take a lot of time to kill a ele and frequantly in that time an ele’s ally come and kill you XD

Yeah, a ‘good’ ele will stall you or kill you if you don’t have your own way to regen. Poisoning can be cleansed through attunement swap or dodge roll.

but like someone else said, you need to save your CDs/burst for when they switch out of water, then you got 8 seconds to stomp them before its back to a stall out.

Staff + GS is in a good spot at the moment, I haven’t had any real issues.

This works a charm for me.

Guardians can beat Ele. It just depends on who’s driving.
