I feel like norn should be the tank,
But humans feel more gentle and confident in what they can do

Help me decide?

or some pictures of your human and norn guardians can help

Are you askin for pve or mists pvp or large world vs world?
You want smaller size for less beeing noticable or a slightly better escape skill?

Human minimum sized female for less noticable in wvw on the field. Hey it works for asuras

Norn for the snowleopard stealth and 1600 ranged dash. Also use female minimal size. Norns got some pretty armor too.

I do both PVE and WVW

Then i highly suggest norn for the elite. Saved my kitten sooooo many times. Just dont make male as they stand out waaay too much.

TBH I regret making my guardian human after seeing all the Norn running around with their flashy T3 armors and the size of Norns certainly live up for the name of Guardian. Personal preference tho.

I have a human guardian and only reason i like it is cause of the t3 cultural for human guardian, it just looks so good

Depends on spec tbh. I run human guardian and I find that my spec and hounds of Balthazaar is godly.

AH+WotM+EM+Larger symbol means I get maximum healing out of this synergy. Both hounds count as an ally within the symbol which provide extra healing as well as granting them might boons which also heal you. All this for 30 seconds!!! thanks a lot of survive while you kick kitten img src="/include/images/smilies/smile.png" />

Now to add Cosmetics, I actually like the Norn T3 armour as well as the Human T3 but I absolutely love the T3 helm for human.

So with all things considered (not to mention WW hits more often as a human o.O) humans win 2-1

the choices should be between asura(minimum char size) and norn(best escape skill). Human is not a good choice at all.

Asura harder to target visually (not really when its based on hit box)
Humans make better tanks
Norns have the only Guardian escape option

Take your pick

Asura Guardians are best!

Male norn, for superior dance moves

Female norn for me. I wanted the biggest character possible and I like it, wouldn’t change it. I don’t really like male norn though.

My character’s a norn.
No other choice would’ve suited her (RP wise), really.

IMHO, it should be a role-playing choice-game mechanics should have no bearing on it, however useful a ew racials could be. Play the character that you will enjoy playing, because at the end of the day, the size issue, “standing out too much”, etc. doesn’t matter if you would have had more fun playing the character you wanted to play (in short, there are no rules-no one choice is “more effective”-and nobody should tell you which race/size/gender combo will work better for you other than yourself.)

I like playing both tiny and large characters, it all depends on which character it is and my concept for him/her.

Stag cultural set sure looks memorable on a norn character, but in the end it is just another armor set.
From min-maxing standpoint if you would ever consider dropping Signet Mastery (+20% signet recharge speed, 10 pts in Radiance trait) for a superior Altruistic Healing + Master of Consecrations Fractals/Arah 0/0/30/30/10 build (for example) Prayer to Dwayna (human racial healing) is the only viable alternative.
Reaper of Grenth (human racial elite) is very helpful against Simin, High Priestess of Dwayna in Seer’s path (Arah, P4) which is considered one of the hardest/buggiest boss currently in game.
Also, majority of armor sets look just amazing on human (Orrian, Inquest, Nightmare), movement is smooth, running speed doesn’t feel like it was intentionally slowed down.

I had the same predicament when making my guardian. In the end I went with human. I’m all about how my character looks and feels. The tie-breaker was how the combat stance of my character looked. These two pictures helped me decide.

My norn just felt too clunky. I enjoyed that he stood out. I enjoyed his speech during combat. But playing such a larger character didn’t feel right during combat. Also his idle combat stance wasn’t as impressive as a human.

Asura, as we are the superior race and will eventually conquer all of those bookahs. Excelsior.

/edit: And asura heavy t2 armor looks quite nice. I don’t like t3 that much even if i had the gold.

I dislike male norn generally but have a look at female stances.

norn female greatsword animations are awesome.

You want Charr.

Human flees at sight of battle or to save their queen.
Norn are good but then…. squirrel.

Charr needs no gods.

I like the norn one… Got mine here, I mixed and match Stag and AC pieces

I’d say Human.

Human is the most polished race and is almost all the time the model when creating armour or town clothes.

Human Cultural Tier 3 the Heavy one is one of the most beautiful and cool looking armour in the game (in my opinion of course.)

The attack animation feels great and you know when you jump, and where you will land. Being a big character might get you hated in jumping puzzles, and the camera views and angles might be annoying if you play a Norn

i went with Norn. ; )) the lore aspect, their size, and transforming into animals! sort of like the idea of having a Guardian Animal. question to all Norn Guards – seems many of you use the Leopard form? i ought to spend the points and get that. O__________o been using Guard elites so far.

though i will say, i think any race of Guardian is pretty awesome and even from a RP perspective you can play it up. for me Norn > Asura > Sylvari > Charr/Human

Charr and human tied mainly because i feel Charr would be more suited as a Warrior. but that’s just me. ; ))

Male Norns look ridiculous imo, I was all set to make a Norn Guardian but the shoulders and just general sizing of them is completely off for me. I’m now torn between Human Male and Female Norn, gotta check both of their 2handed animations out.
