I took a break from this game for a few months and was wondering if they removed the ability to cancel frames for the auto attack chain by dodging, most noticeably with the hammer chain on guardian where you would dodge in between the second towards third attack to cancel the animation early.

I can’t seem to do it anymore. Any answers would be helpful.

Pretty sure it was indeed removed.

There was never any such thing. They got rid of the bug where you could roll between auto-attacks to cancel the roll and burn endurance, but you could never cancel the animation frames on an attack in such a way that it actually made you attack faster. If you could, everyone would be doing it.

actually you used to be able to cancel the animation with a dodge roll and the attack would still go off, its semi-fixed now though

Thanks for the responses.

Shame, I’ll miss it. Made my hammer guardian gameplay feel “tighter”.

That’s only technically true. What would happen is that if you rolled between hits on the auto-attack chain, the game would keep trying to finish the chain and that would interrupt the roll, which was useful cause you’d get roll healing + endurance burn for Elusive Power. It wouldn’t actually speed up your swing, though, but it would glitch the animation so it looked that way. It’s pretty obvious just from looking that you weren’t attacking any faster, though.
