I currently have a full zerker exotic set. I’m used to the survivability of a necro. What can I do to give myself an easier experience while roaming around?

Guards have poor vita pools that won’t come close to necro, but they have good toughness and plenty of condi clears. Loose some zerker and add valk, take the radiance traitline and go with 1 handed to compensate; i usualy keep about 20% crit. You don’t need pure zerker to be effective on guard. Going that route also opens up more burn options as well that synerze with a solid clear like purging flames….

Mobility is the second problem. By going one handed, you get sword tele and the radiance buffs judjes intervention (i like more tele). Nothing is going to beat wings (f2) if you go dragon hunter though.

I personaly run radiance 2-2-1/ zeal 3-3-3 as my typical build and the 3rd is situational. valk/zerk armor, carrion weapons and sinister trinks for a nice hybrid. Its a bit eclectic, but the stats are comfortable.

This is my approach, there are others. Biggest thing is buff the vita pool and get mobility where you can… if you don’t like the one above or that concept, try a symbol build and hammer for perma protection and healing symbols.

You can go power and use radiance actually that’s good; I do zeal/radiance too as above – but GS focus w/ zeal. You can go Honor/Valor for more defensive options; and DH of course helps – as said vit is seriously lacking on Guard BUT – you have aegis/blocks and protection/stability and ways to mitigate dmg. Also, it’s Open World – shield, focus are great to pair with sword for more defensive options or hammer as said – while still doing great DPS plus swap with GS or sword/torch or etc. for the pure DPS weaps.

I mix zerk/soldier or mara gear open world. Also, I use Traveler’s Runes – the 25% movement speed plus u get boon/condi dur it’s decent; I wouldn’t use it for fractals/dungeons/raids. Also I use Retreat! when moving; w/ boon dur from runes mobility is not a factor; plus u can use it for a block. However it isn’t useful in story fights, etc. not compared to other abilities this is for moving/etc.

It takes getting used to once you do tho tbh it’s hard to die as Guardian.

Bererker all the way and traveler runes. Slot Valor for meditations and then Zeal/Radiance (or DH) for damage. Run whatever weapons you want.

Medis will keep you alive, traveler runes keep you pretty kitten mobile. Does a ton of damage.

Stay full zerker and just get better at staying alive. You’ll need the practice for higher fractals and raids if you plan to do those. I’m full glass cannon and only get downed a couple times in a long play session, usually when trying to train through a bunch of crap that chain CCs me.

I pretty much only do open world metas and solo stuff, so this is what I’ve been using since the latest balance patch:

The big thing here is keeping Retaliation and Fury up for when you use GS#2 and Procession of Blades. With Retaliation and Fury, you have a 100% crit chance, which turns GS#2 and Procession of Blades into murder machines.

Flame Legion runes because it can be difficult sometimes to maintain 90%+ for Scholar runes, Force sigils because it’s the best, and Strength sigils because I found Air to be kinda mediocre for open world since you’re usually pulling 2-3+ mobs at a given time. Maybe Fire is better, I’m not sure yet.

Since you can easily dump precision, you can replace Berserker gear for some Valkyrie gear to gain a significant health boost. I’m currently sitting at just over 20k, which is much better than the paltry 12k or so health a Guardian gets.
