The Firebrand Mantras wouldn’t be too bad if they could reach allies, but how they were set up in the beta weekend was horrendous. Terrible range and in a frontal cone only, make the cone 600 and turn with the action camera, then I can get behind them.

Another thing that really bothered me about Mantras, was that since the design intent was to make them different from Mesmer Mantras, well they’re cones and the final charge is stronger, so job well done. Why did you have to add punishing cooldowns on using the final charge? You should halve the cooldowns on the Mantra final charge or make them significantly stronger. It feels awful that I felt like I literally shouldn’t use all of my Mantra charges in almost any situation. It’s even worse when it’s the healing skill.

Change them to a 600 frontal cone, and make the cooldown for using all charges less punishing and I could see myself running a full bar of mantras, but right now? Maybe the stability one in PVE, quickness one in PVP, and the rest will be my familiar Guardian skills.

Agreed, mantras i think should be a 180 degree aoe, so you still have to kind of aim them but allies standing apart doesn’t make you a useless support. The heal needs a bit of a heal buff but in terms of the punishment for using the mantras i like it, although it needs to be worth it to use the last charge.

Think about it, you don’t need might/quickness or burn dmg in a pinch. Like they are good in a pinch but you most of the time wont need them so most of the time you are just watching that little charge bar go round, since you will probs never use the last charge cause as i said you don’t need might in a pinch it makes more sense to just wait for a charge for the max overall dps, so kinda meh.

Maybe on all the last charges of all the mantras they should give you some sort of defensive buff, like a flat heal etc, this would make you use the last charge get punished but also save your life so doesn’t feel pointless.

So instead of buffing the heal skill make the last mantra charge heal for like 2-3k so you end up using em. Probs good to make it a aoe heal cause yes guard gives ages for days but its healing is pretty poor. Somet as simple as making it a blast could work too. Since we got a water field now.

Just make them like skill 4 on shield.
