Orb of Light, how does this thing work?
It usually helps if you have an enemy target near your allies to prevent the orb from going straight into the ground. Once the orb touches a hard surface like a wall, you won’t be able to detonate it so you have to be quick if you plan on doing a close heal. I do think though this was design intentionally to prevent targeted healing which is against the GW2 design.
I’m a human and I use my left shoulder as a target reticle for projectile skills. The Orb is quite awkward to use nonetheless.
Doesn’t works…
Anet will change it… i’m sure.
You aim in 3D space like a third person shooter, i.e. it goes in the direction your camera is facing. If you’re looking at your character from an angle above the ground then it will shoot straight into the ground. This allows you to heal people that are above or below you.
So you have to even out your camera each time you want to aim it, ugh that’s kinda of awkward……
They should have just made it go straight forward instead.
Ah well, thanks for the info
Its not meant to be an aimed heal..its a targeted damaging attack with the option of a small aoe heal..if you stay thinking of it and using it as such your headaches will go away
Still even using it as a damaging attack I had problems with it going into the ground. Was just annoying to use, but I must have a habit of having my camera in a top down view most of the time so I guess that’s the problem.
Camera won’t affect the aim if you have an enemy targeted and in range
You send it towards your enemy. it goes into the ground and heal friendly worms and damage hostile worms. Since the worms are so deep in the ground you dont see the numbers.
