I know this seems ridiculous…but seems I’ve been wearing the same armor since I started this character. At what point in level am I able to obtain a decent looking set of armor? I’m level 51 right now and still wearing scale/chain looking armor.

One of the things that keep me going and I’m sure many others is the change in looks….I know it’s sad…but my character still looks like he hasn’t progressed besides gaining a helmet and spiked shoulders. Besides that he doesn’t look much different than being level 1. I think I’ve gone through enough quests and storyline to feel like I’ve become more of a soldier or hero yet I’m still wearing crap, which is all at my level. With hardly any difference in abilities while leveling there should at least be some good difference in gear at points in this game to at least give players a feeling of progress. I don’t care what anyone says, but looks mean a lot more than just being flamboyant and stylish. Being over halfway to the max level I’d think that getting some kittenty looking full armor sounds correct. I don’t need glowing anything or kitten spikes, I just wanna feel like I’ve actually gotten farther than scales and mail if I’m a soldier. If you are into game play only then you need to move back to the old SNES rpgs and open up your skype, google, facebook or whatever you need to talk to your friends.

At your level good looking armor is scarce. Get to 60+ and more appealimg options will open up to you. If you like “plate” ish armor Vigil set is pretty nice but requires lvl 80. Cultural tier 1 now and tier 2 at 60+ may also suit you depending on your race. Different karma vendors in world also carry unique armor like Pit Fighter that you may like, although it shows alot of skin. Honestly tho the really nice stuff awaits at lvl 80. Hope that helps a bit.

Also to be honest, after 700 hours on my guardian and having all armors available to me I see a need to expand the armor selection. Maybe I’m just jaded but hell it would be nice to see new skins. Been mentioned, but as yet to be verified. My Stag armor has suited me for a while now but I just have that itch for something new. Perma chrome effect armor anyone? Lol

Your options will open up tremendously at 80. You’ve already got your racial T1 option available to you, but most of those aren’t plate-ey. T2 tends to be much more plate oriented, particularly for Humans and Norn. That’s expensive, though, for a new player. You’ll also get access to the Splint and Banded sets very soon. Those are much more plated up than anything you’ve been wearing. Search the TP for them, see if you can find them at decent prices.

If you want to look like a hipster flamboyant dweeb, get the lionguard armor in from the karma vendors in Bloodtide Coast. It looks hilarious.
