So, after throwing my weekend away farming to craft Corrupted Bulwark, I finally got it.. and it is AMAZING. Only problem is that the Aegis effect absolutely screws up the skin. For those who likes to collect rare and prestigious skins like I do, this is a huge deal.

I think it gives a nice glowy effect to it, but I can understand your opinion may differ.

The problem is that it completly hides Jormag’s face on the Shield. The glowy effect around the shield is natural of it, the Aegis is just the outlines inside the shield. It clips through the skin and it looks hideous in my opinion….

Might look good using a plain shield with no texture..

Guardian is my main and only class, I do not plan on re rolling just to get the most out of a prestigious skin.

Yes I hate the aegis/retiliation visuals. They look even more silly when not wielding a shield.

I hope they will never remove Aegis visual effect, I like it a lot.

I hope they do not remove it, but at least give us an option to turn it off. The effect looks cool on plain shields with no textures or drawns but it just clips through and blurs other more prestigious shields.

Sadly I believe you will have to deal with it, as the visual effect isn’t there just to please/displease you, it serves a vital purpose in PvP and WvW, it is a visual tell, that your opponent has a certain buff that effects them greatly.

They should also add an option to choose when aegis gets used. Like only for attacks which drain more than 20% of your total health. It sucks to get triggered by trash attacks.

They should just give the option to remove it visually, but keep the effect, it’s really annoying for taking screenshots of armour and stuff.

When the shield is on your back, the effect is cancelled. When you enter combat, the effect expires. So it’s only when you draw your shield outside of combat I guess. Anyway, take it to the suggestions forum.
