Problem with Hammer 3 & Sword 3
I’d say it’s partly ping, partly the skills themselves.
Sword 3 really has to be preceded with CC to be effective ( unless you’re using it to absorb ranged attacks ) – one trick is to activate #3 and then immediately use Judges Intervention to teleport on-top of your target, cooldowns permitting.
Hammer 3 is slow and telegraphed and easy to dodge ( again, unless coupled with JI )
A bad ping will compound the issue – have you tried Battle Ping or something equivalent?
It’s not the lag, it’s how the skills work. Both Hammer 3 and Sword 3 shoot projectiles at the current location of the target, which will almost always miss even if they are Chilled and walking sideways. Scepter auto-attack or Staff 2 will shoot projectiles based on a predictive path of the target, meaning they will fire ahead of them if they are moving.
Like Tarsius said, if you want Hammer/Sword 3 to hit, you’ll need to either immobilize, knockdown, or be in point-blank range to be successful.

I think arenanet need to rework that skills to work as predictive path, or make it skillshoots… Is very frustrating how it works and you need to immobilize with a class with almost nothing of CC….

You can skill-shot hammer 3 if you deselect the target and have auto targeting turned off.
