PvE Stats Calculator
Oh for the love of everything good and nice. This is exactly what Anet didn’t want in their game.
That people had to pull up their calculators before a fight, to figure out what would be the most effecient way to build their characters, instead of just jumping into battle and rely on their skills to pay the bills.
Ah well, at least we don’t have silly addons like GearScore or damage meters, like you had in WoW.

No one is forcing you to use this builder. Nothing wrong crunching numbers before buying gear.

Bookmarked it as soon as I clicked your link in the triforge pendant thread. Really nice to finally have a calc that can show true stats and what your full gear layout is without an essay on the forum. Also seems pretty updated since it actually had sigil of generosity as a choice.
As far as min max numbers crunching complaints… It really doesnt do any more than the pvp ones do, it just has all the gear available. Its also nice to be able to see if a build you are thinking about might work without spending the money for gear only to realize its a waste. And honestly people can do that enough as it is, most formulas are known, and all it takes is looking up stats on gear.

Really nice.
One question though, what is the “damage” number? Is it some sort of overall damage increase from traits and gear added to base damage?
The reason i ask is that i have made a couple of builds but it just says 0% even with added power/crit/critdamage.

When I put in a sigil of force, it displayed 5%. I’m assuming it’s referring to static damage multipliers.
Yep, trying putting in 10 in zeal and put in the 10% damage on burn trait. That # will jump to 10%.
This is amazing! Just what I was looking for.

You are right in spirit but so completely wrong in logic. A-Net does not want people to be forced into min/max spec’s and gear like WoW players but; they combat this by making all stats relevant and making large tradeoffs for completely ignoring stats or stacking a stat to excess.
If they didn’t want people to be able to calculate the effectiveness of their gear/spec choices they would not have made the numbers visible. This is the only way to combat ‘calculators’. You would be playing a game with no health bars, no stats page, no combat log, no flashy numbers flying up when you hit something, etc.
Great tool! Thanks for the link!
This is amazing. It seems accurate as I tested it against my own created spreadsheets.

It’s a great tool but dps in this game is useless to track. Because how many encounters actually let you stand and beat on them. You have to dodge move away from mechanics use tactics. This just isn’t a game that you will ever see dps tools be that useful for. However it is nice to show you where you are in stats. But I did find a few gear problems where stats would actually go down. Which makes it not as accurate as it should be.

What do you mean? They already put it in the game themselves in the hero panel. This calculator just makes it easier to figure out which combinations of gear give you the stats that you want. It’s been a royal pain because you can’t get certain stat combinations from a single piece of gear.
If you want to min/max, then you need a damage calculator to tell you what the relative values of each stat are. Right now, it’s just what each player feels is the best stats for themselves.
And a damage calculator in GW2 is far more complicated and unreliable than other games. It has far more combinations of traits, stats, and abilities, as well as more chaotic combat with the addition of cross-profession combos (how much damage on average is a projectile finisher worth?)
Thanks for sharing
Calculating DPS is no that useless, yeah of course it depends a lot on what happens.
But the point is that, now, you can try to modify your build or choice of gear to obtain the best result in the end (on a purely theoritical PoV, ont static bosses).

Especially since a full set of exotic gear with runes/weapons is about 50 gold right now. If Anet wants people to play with gear instead of calculators, maybe they should rethink their approach to obtaining loot in the game.
THANK YOU. I needed a calculator to plan my stats for WvW.
