I’ve taken one account to top 10 and another account to top 25 NA with this build and a support d/f ele.

This build does well in team fights. Aegis spam gives your team blocks, retaliation, and aoe damage. Shattered aegis can give you huge damage spikes. For example, shield #4 can apply damage, shattered aegis on allies you hit, and then shattered aegis again from the communal defenses trait.

Gain:
Permanent retaliation
Damage when aegis breaks

Lose:
F3 Stability/Stunbreak
F2 3/5 Condis cleared
Mobility

about how much does SA do against light armor opponents?

I tested it with a carrion necro.

hey that’s pretty decent. I always found this trait interesting but remember testing it out and found it lackluster. with the double aegis trap and all that retal, the build looks kinda promising. good one.

I think what would really bring this build up is if hunters fortification was “aegis removes one condition from allies”.

I actually ran a SA build for a part of last season, it’s actually pretty solid, but it gets a bit boring after a while.. I think the one I ran was a shout variation with menders. Fragments of Faith is a stun breaker(also have the auto proc on being CC’d Shard of Faith), you can also take SYG, Retreat and Receive the light. Also taking Pure of Voice and Trooper Runes so you have nearly the best team condi cleanse. Hunters Fortification too means you have boat loads of condi clear, just not enough to survive repeated corruptions and condi bombs. My biggest gripe with the build is that it has no killing power,chase power or mobility in general. So the only thing you’re pretty spot on about is the mobility. I also faintly remember guards that dropped tons of multi hit abilities would end up killing themselves thanks to retal.

Us Guardians are extremely susceptible to CC effecrs so we typically need all the stunbreakers and stability we can get. Taking Zeal over Virtues is fine if your survivability is unchanged.

I’m curious if you would still run Zeal vs a comp made up of War/Mes/Thief/Ele/Necro.

Zeal is just a terrible PvP line.

Give it a shot, you might be surprised how well it works.

Shattered aegis mediguard was the first build I ran after the 6/23 specialization patch, I know very well what that trait/build can/can’t do.

This could work if they give us base stunbreak and 1 stability on f3. This way…nono so much cc you cant even do proper dmg.
