Question on build...
Yup, that’s a pretty standard gs/staff build with AH. That 10 in Virtues is nice because there are a few neat traits in the adept line, including reduced cd on consecrations (Wall of Reflection) or ground-targeted consecrations. This is good for running in an organized group. Most of the guardians in my guild run this or similar builds in WvW. I myself use hammer instead of staff but that’s just another option.

Thanks. I just noticed with the build though…say I’m trying to catch up to the zerg or what not, I get crushed if it’s 1v1. I’m not sure if that’s normal or if I’m failing lol. I put up a fight, but I don’t do damage really because I’m mainly support built. Is that normal?
Yeah, this is not a roaming build by any means. Staff is pretty lackluster 1v1, but it really shines in larger-scale fights. Plus, most of your traits are meant for group support and aren’t nearly as rewarding when it’s just you. That’s kind of a guardian thing in general but is especially so when you go 0/0/30/30/10.

I want to add another shout-out for hammer, especially if you plan on using the same build for PVE – I know it feels slow, but the damage is very strong, and the bind and launch options at 3 and 4 can really throw someone off their game.
That said, whatever your weapons, a guardian support build like this is just going to get rocked by someone with decent single target DPS if you are roaming, though with shouts and swiftness off the staff, you might be able to at least live to run away.
You can do a little better solo with 0/0/30/30/10 by using Meditation Mastery (I) and Monk’s Focus (XII) out of the Valor line and using Judge’s Intervention and Smite Condition as comparatively quick self-heals, along with Two-Handed Mastery (Honor IX) for more use of the better skills from GS, hammer, and/or Staff.
Thanks again for all the replies. I appreciate it
