Quick question
all channeled skills are adding up the numbers to confuse you,
so each time you see this:
300,600,900,1200, 1500. your total damage is the LAST number.
that means you did overall 1500 damage and not 4500.
when you see this:
200, 220, 180, 200, 194 – these are individual hits like GS1 chain. your total damage is the sum of all numbers
it is also easy to know by the tooltip.
if you see in the tooltip something like that: damage (8x) 1500 that means you channel eight hits of a total sum 1500 (ofc modified by opponents armor, your crits etc…)
if you see “strike” 250 then it is a single hit.
on warrior HB tooltip you see:
damage (8x) 1500
final strike damage 300
that means you channel 8 hits of total 1500 (i.e. 8 hits of 187) and then one big hit of 300.
disclaimer:
the numbers that I used are for example only and they are not the “real” numbers on lvl 80 char etc…
Think of it as you would a blender. The longer some thing sits in there the more it’s cut up and turned into mush. I always try to picture a glass cannon thief in this scenario because it amuses me greatly :P
“Jim’ll Fix It and if he doesn’t it’s not broken”
Ah I guess that makes sense. Slightly disappointing but I guess I should have figured that out just by reading the tool tip. Oh well, I still feel like a baller watching those numbers fly up.
Or for added amusement with regards to channel skill damage put up a wall of reflection in front of a gate that is under siege in WvW and watch all the wonderful hit marks fly up lol. Some sap did a bow channel that did 7k damage to himself since the wall reflected the entire channel! XD
