6 sec cd with barely 5k dmg crits…..while Coescelence of Ruin still do 13k dmg to my DH with 3k armor, warrior still have their dmg plus axe buff, conditions more buffed on all classes….this balance team.

Shield of Courage: Decreased active duration of this skill from 4 seconds to 3 seconds. The cooldown has been decreased from 75 seconds to 60 seconds.

Butchered DH in pvp too bad I am not playing their kittenty pvp.

It should be cast while moving to make up for it IMO. It has been nerfed too many times in damage and now CD, while still having the initially placed weakness to keep the skill in check.

They need to add more damage elsewhere in the longbow, especially Hunter’s Ward which tickles the enemies with the first hits.

Thats in wvw so take 30% in pvp so lets say 3.9k crits in pvp. And thats like autoattack from Rev Hammer, autoattack from a warrior, autoattack from a thief….shall I continue?

For a 6 sec stationary skill it seems and feels like crap.

Trueshot nerf in wvw is absolutely uncalled for. Literally the only group of players this hurts are DH roamers (lol, what roamers?). In zergs, guardian/DH don’t use longbow and when they do, it’s mainly for LB5 (Hunter’s Ward). Lets look at what the skill can do now:

  • 3-6k crits against most players (assuming the dragonhunter is using largely marauder’s gear with some berserker’s and/or soldier’s mixed in)
  • Hits on average 1-3 players in zerg fights.
  • Offers absolutely no bonuses outside of damage
  • Roots the player
  • Absolutely no support on this skill for condition builds
  • Has a very obvious cast animation and is avoidable by reflex alone
  • Reflectable (this alone merits trueshot never receiving nerfs in wvw)

Anet, please reconsider this change. It is absolutely not necessary for WvW. I’ve already ceased roaming nearly altogether on my guardian since the scene is completely dominated by highly mobile classes with stealth access and this is just another nail in the coffin. Now, DH lack pressure on longbow in small group fights or 1v1 since both of their hardest hitting skills are easily avoidable and don’t hit that hard to begin with. This hasn’t ruined DH/guardian but I think I’ll definitely be dropping longbow for some time now.

It’s still a 5k hit in sPvP. Do remember that in sPvP people typically don’t have more than 560 toughness and that damage reduction food doesn’t exist.

They at least could add 2 stacks of burning for 3 seconds to this skill, so there is a reason to use it when on a condtion build.

Also, they could reduce the cast time to compensate the higher CD, by 0.1~0.15 seconds.

@OP, why talk about unfair in relation with warrior getting axe dmg buffs??
you cant compare them but also you totally ignore the amounts of sustain nerfs they received (slower headbut/slower Arc/slower shield bash/less healing/less stability/less bursts attacks and longer recharge on berserk mode/2x less endure pain)

But yeah so unfair right? … ppl just read the tiny buffs and ignore the rest of it.

To be honest they nerfed F2, F3, Test of Faith and Renewd Focus along with True Shot, so basically neutered the Dragon Hunter PvP build hitting it like a truck; the hit seems more like a pick up in WvW because some of those nerfs didn’t happen there but as someone said that part of the game is currently dominated by classes more evasive than Guardians that are specifically built to not lose.

I don’t longer use this class and I’m aware that longbow isn’t used in PvE, but you must recognize that a THIRD nerf of True Shot in a row can hurt some feelings between the comunity of competitive DH players.

I don’t really get some of the changes in this patch but in truth, I’m still flying high off the last one. I mean, RIP True Shot? I don’t think that’s an honest evaluation EVEN with the nerf.

Only time will tell how the changes affect DH in PVP. No one on the first day will know. That’s just reading tea leaves.

Virtue of resolve is an instant skill.
Wings is a skill with 1 sec cast time which is interrupted in 80% situations, it should be better heal.

They nerf heal, then give it an evasion for 1/4 sec.
They pretty much destroyed DH pvp, but I dont care this game mode is already dead to me but feel bad for DH’s in pvp.

If they allow you to move while casting then I’d say the change is fine. Otherwise it should do more damage because the dh standing still and charging his bow is more than an obvious tell.

As a Rev main, I entirely understand what’s to lack any kind of viable pressure tool at range, specially fighting against classes as evasive as the Mesmer and the Thief. DH was a strong oponent vs Mesmers but Mermers harcounterd Revs with 0 effort.

True Shot in not a good skill anymore: roots you, has a very predictable animation and hits bland.

I understand the nerfs in PvP -despite the game mode is mostly dead and the DH wasn’t OP at all in tournaments-, but I don’t understand why they carried the True Shot nerf to WvW. Longbow isn’t used in zergs, and True Shoot was already a poor option when used vs classes with broad access to stealth

I think that most of DH will end just stop using TS because is worse than the autoattack, in the same way that Revenant stopped using finishers six months ago when we lost access to a reliable source of stability in the October patch.

As I said, I really don’t care about the True Shot nerf itself because I no longer use this class, but I find disturbing the progressive reduction of usable skills, tools and variations in the game, being the devastation of the PvP sigils the perfect example of it: they leave NOTHING to play with. Not a single sigil I did use in the past year wit Guardian, Warrior or Revenant rest alive. This game will end with less skill and gear variety than in a MOBA, is just matter of time.
