I honestly don’t know why they nerfed it like they did… Unless you’re built really well, trueshot doesn’t hit very hard at all now. Outside of my nearly glass canon roamer, I don’t find much use for longbow anymore.
Some better changes they could have made (one or the other, from 2 different perspectives) :
Was trueshot deemed op in pve? I don’t think so, but the cooldown could have simply been pushed up to 5 seconds. This is essentially a 20% nerf to dps, but doesnt upset the pvp population too much.
Was trueshot deemed op in pvp? A little bit yes. Nerf damage by 10%.
The 20% nerf was excessive imo. They claimed in the patchnotes that trueshot was problematic in wvw as it had little counterplay. I think they mistook a 3/4 cast time telegraphed, self-rooting, reflectable projectile with a mobile wider aoe, ranged, short cd high damage skill that can’t be reflected (revenant hammer 2).
To play devil’s advocate in regards to rev hammer 2 skill… you can’t simply jump to avoid trueshot.

I meant true-shot dps. I realize the other skills were buffed, but lets be real, the only one of those you stand a chance of landing against someone in a pvp setting is deflecting shot.

Correct, is more like a 35% nerf in DH’s BURST capability. Which already was crap (I mean, is not like you can’t build to try to one-shooting baddies, BUT if you fail with the noob-trapper combo you barely have tools and your sustain is weak). Only thing worse than a pure glass cannon is a pure glass cannon that needs to do damage over time due can’t do decissive damage.
Some other classes (Chrono, Herald, even Daredevil), can burst, pressure and retain sustain much better than Guards. And having better mobility. And better team support than meditrapper.

Saddly no one on the balance team plays guardian nor DH,
All it is needed to stop DH class from working is use more tanky gear and select a class that does good damage on tanky gear, can even go afk while i only see DH trap and run, trap and run.
if this is achivable with a mace bunker vanilla guard, imagine how other classes would reck the DH, since this elite spec only works while powercreep leech exist.
And mace shield bunker guard is a free kill for any other class. since weapon and trait are super outdated for gw2 combat.

I think they should revert the change add 2 sec cd and make it usable on the move would make it less spammy and easier to kite
