I hear alot of people talking about Guardians and regen builds so they are passively regening all the time. I’ve been working on trying to achieve this kind of build for my Bunker build, so far I have the Dolyak Runes and Food, is there more to it ?

I remember at one point in WvW (I’ll admit I was only level 15 or something) but I was nuking an AFK guardian and he was regening at almost the same rate of my damage, again I understand that because of my level my damage was not that of an 80.

Basically, what am I missing, Dolyak runes, Food With passive regen, and theres gotta be more to it after that.

You can spent 20 point to the trait Virtue and active the Major Trait number IX, that increase the passive effect of Virtue of Resolve, and grant to remove 3 condition when you active it. And, if you’re in a party, spent 30 point in Valor, active the Trait number XI to heal you when you give a buff to other players. If you play whit the staff whit the skill number 4 you give different stack of might in different times. If there’s ally near you to buff and you’ve a good Healing power you can recharge a very large amount of life in one single skill.
Regen+buff healing by staff+sigil heal skill = Immortal.
Try a build like that: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fUEQNAW5elYgyC33xNEm4ESmCRCBxUURZ01DHKhYIA;T4AA1ymEMJZS1kiJKbM2IsxajzGpNjG2NA
(if it don’t work try to copy and paste on a new page)

Thnx for the reply, I’m not a big fan of the staff and just can’t see myself using it. After sifting through some older threads I’m wondering if my issue is the Dolyak runes. I’ve seen a few people say go 2X water, 2X monk, and 2X (can’t remember the third), or 4x monk, 2x water. So I’m wondering if thats where I’m going wrong, instead of trying to stack passive regen from Dolyak I should be stacking boon duration/boon effectiveness to get more regen out of the tools I already have.

I’ll keep searching but none the less I appreciate the reply.

stacking bufftime is much better then dolyak. the 6. rune gives you an awsome passiv heal of 30 hp per sec…..

@ Nuzt.7894, last rune you are looking for is prolly Superior Rune of Dwayna, which gives 20% more regen. Also you dont have to use staff, in my eyes it’s pretty bad small scale. Instead you can use greatsword, or sword/focus. Even hammer is viable option.

@Silv.9207, as you use altruisitic healing in the Honor tree, I would instead take the 2 symbol traits (larger and longer) Symbols give you a buff every second you stand in them, resulting into some very nice healing. You can also go 30 points for the symbols heal trait. Though that is better for sPvP, as you will stay on one spot instead of having to chase ppl.

I would not use Runes of Dolyak. 30hp per sec is not worth it: period.

Especially when you can use 2 Runes of Monk, 2 Runes of Water, 2 Runes of Dwayna. This FAR out performs a 30hp sec passive heal.

For food, however, use Mango Pies. It’s a nice 82hp a sec.

Can try something like this: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fUAQNgd8elcgyCXFyMEfIFS2jVCBTQbBYPwoKajuFA

Ofcourse, moving utilities around on the fly is a must in WvW

Sometimes I go w/ symbols larger & symbols heal, just becasue Mace symbol is crazy regen, couple w/ 30% chance to heal (sigil).. it’s crzy uptime.

with a bit crit rate round about 40% (with maintenance oil) u can use Omnomberry-Ghosts / Pie. That is a much higher heal then the regen from the Mango Pies

edit: omnomberry-ghosts/pies gives 70 precision too

Imo if you want a regen build then this is the first place to look, if you use sigil of blood the life leech on crit seems to stack so you end up with +300 life per crit and they seem to have no internal cooldown which means that aoe from ww/mb give you life leech on every crit in the aoe. This is massive. When i play my ah critbuild in wvw its the norm to gain about 1k health per chain/mb.

With that said i would go for the food above and trait 0/0/30/20/20 and use pre/vit/heal gear with a knights and berserker accessories and soldiers runes.

Doylak isnt as bad as people seem to think. In a knights gear your regen from virtues are about 85 hps and adding 32 more hps is actually a substantial increase. BUT for it to have maximum effect you need to stack toughness in favor of health, the more toughness and the less health you have the more effective the regen becomes. Hence Doylaks have some serious impact on certain builds, in one of my setups (3500 armor and signet of judgement) i have doylaks and they are working much better then i anticipated. In average i have about 1.2 AH proccs per second on that build which makes doylaks correspond to >30% buff of AH.

So what good regen for one setup is lousy for an other, first and foremost its the size of the healthpool and armor that determines whats good.

Sigil of Blood got a 2 second icd but the users of the wiki imagined that its more like 5 sec

correct, i was a bit unclear, my statement regarding no internal cd was ment to be about omnomberry pie/ghost.

And its not 5 s. The reason why people find it to be longer then expected is that with 50% crit chance only every, roughly, 15% hit grants you life leech if you only use sigils. Stand alone they are rather useless but if you stack them with food they become OP imo.

I actually reported the food as bugged because it cant be intended that they work so well.
