Changing this skill to a 2s duration block rather than 2s Invulnerability would create a lot more synergy for Guardians with the traits we have that activate on block.

It would also stop the issue of Invulnerability preventing capture point contributions, as right now a Guardian’s role is to hold ground, but using our Elite makes us give up the ground we are trying the hold…

Blocks can be interrupted, and also some skills go through blocks.

I think I prefer invulnerability.

In happy fantasy land,

-can’t get cancelled or if it is cancelled still recharges virtues

You have a healing skill this does this, use it instead cause Renewed Focus is fine as is, imho and long time wvw experience (actually Tome of Courage is the bomb too).

Changing it to a block would actually be a nerf. As someone posted above, some attacks go through block, would be nice to have some synergy with the traits however.

As giving might, dealing damage or healing to synergies with more than once every 40 second.

But God forgive our traits can actually activate more than once every 40 second!!!

The thinking is just that Renewed Focus alone is a very weak Elite.

Possibly the weakest standalone Elite skill after Mortar.

Even after spending a fair few trait points on Virtues it still isn’t that good.

I’d like to see some sort of improvement to Renewed Focus.
Either an enhancement to the basic skill with additional effects, a reduced cool-down or some extra synergy.

After they decided to ‘shave’ our Tomes in PvP by removing the Stability which in-turn meant no one ever used them ever again, ArenaNet balancing™ it would be nice if we had a decent solo Elite.

The other Professions all have at least one Elite that can turn the tide of a fight for them, Renewed Focus more often than not is just delayed death.

If they changed RF to a block, I would rage so freaking hard. My WvW build thrives off using it to tank 7-10 hits from a giant mob. As well as I use RF to escape Lupi bubbles if I get sloppy soloing him. As well as I use it to run through TA forward elite guard bubbles(this one is just fun). Changing it to a block would be a HUGE nerf…..

I think it may be due to Fear Me? I’ve been Fear Me ’d in Shelter once as well now.

Block would be awful, but all in-vulnerabilities are bad for the game anyway, all should be significantly toned down.

RF has saved my kitten so many times in WvW zerg fights and basically all areas of the game. I can’t stress enough the importance of 6 quick virtue pops in succession (blinds, heals, aegis), along with added time to wait for heal to cooldown and vigor (especially important for dodge roll heals).

RF may not be the best elite out there, but it is one of our better ones. Changing it to block would be a huge nerf to it. What they need to buff is Tome of Wrath’s #1 skill, Guardians rarely bring condi damage.

I’ve been feared through Shelter also, I’m just not sure of the source. Never been feared through RF though.

Oh oh oh would you make it as stupid as Shelter too? Where when it’s interrupted, it gives no effects and goes into full cooldown? Tomes are already unfavorable, don’t make our elites worse.

What? Tome of Courage has got to be one of the best elites in the game.

Tome of Courage is quite good, you just need to make sure you have some type of stab to get Light of Deliverance off. Wrath on the other hand is just bad.

I got a video from when I ran with HB on Blackgate showing the power of ToC, especially the daze….it, ToC, is the bomb if used at the right time.

RF as it is in small skirmishes i find im leading with my virtues and pounding RF to come out of a theifs initial burst or a mesmers shatter burst unscratched.

I have been finding its not as reliable as it once was lately, goes on CD without refreshing virtues. gets interrupted etc.

I still find the guardians elite skills lack luster, compared to other classes. I gladly trade it for a defensive version of signet of rage. lol

With boon duration and shout duration, isn’t save yourselves already better than signet of rage?

It would be a nerf not a buff, players who would benefit from this are usually running 25 in valor which would benefit basically no pve players except those who still use AH
