do these traits overlap or does one take precedent over the there and stacking them can give you back to back aegis on the first 2 CCs you receive?

They overlap, and since aegis doesn’t stack in quantity we only get one block. However, both will trigger so you do get the stunbreak, retaliation, and aegis.
