Retreat! What do our shout represents?
It’s an homage to the old GW1 skill.
its’ to juke out your enemies! while you yell out retreat, but charge towards them.

I’m pretty sure other players can’t hear a guardian’s shout, so it can’t be used to confuse enemies.
yea.. sadly. it only happens in my head. :///
don’t pop my bubble! lol

Still use it to charge at enemies. RETREAT FROM THE BACKLINES TO THE ENEMY!
Logan inspired the Shout, Retreat, to guardians.
4x Necromancer, 3x Mesmer, 4x Guardian, 4x Thief, 4 Revenant
I think “Retreat” skill do is intended for withdrawing from a fight…
with swiftness and aegis to defend you from further attacks while shouting retreat…
lets just say its for Tactical Retreat tactics
Stand on my back, Let them come through me first!
I use it a lot when either farming PvE or bags in a zerg with the staff. You can cover a lot of ground with 20s of swiftness. I also use it for the aegis block or simply traveling. I do wish it was longer though, maybe an extra 10s to boost our mobility. There can be a lot more useful utilities to bring to a fight.
Though I hardly use it for actually retreating.
This has always bothered me, and frankly, I think it speaks to ANET’s idea of the Guardian role.
Obviously Guardians should Retreat (20s swiftness on 60s timer for 33% swiftness uptime), because a Warrior’s job is to Charge (10s swiftness on a 15s timer for 66% swiftness uptime.)
Getting the picture here? Yeah…just Retreat.

I just find it Ironic that they gave us a skill based off of something the class is generally horrible at being able to do… honestly it should just be called “Attempt to keep up while I am being kited!”
