Hello everyone I took a break from this game due to joining the army and having to go through basic training now that that’s over with and I’m in a setting were I can play a bit in my personal time I was wondering how things are looking for the guardian? I’ve read the patch notes but nothing can quite tell you how something is unless you test it yourself. I have a build I would like to try out that uses bane signet mainly its for playing small group fights with friends in wvw while we cap supply points and the like and I would also like to know with the buff to bane signet is it worth having around now for the passive on a more offensive build? I know might be a dumb question but just have to ask.

welcome back!

the Guardian is in a good place now i think. as you can tell the last few patches, not much is being done to the Guard though. definitely still some tweaks to be made! and more to improve on.

I’ve recently started testing Bane Signet as well in my WvW and sPvP builds. i definitely like the added power while it’s passive, though, the knockdown is extremely useful for setting up burst. you can use it defensively as well! stop someone to relieve a little pressure on your end.

some will argue that it’s a waste of a utility spot but it’s been pretty fun so far and quite effective. i’ll keep testing it but i think i like the way it plays. i went pretty deep in radiance for the build as well, and picked up Signet of Resolve as my heal as well (used to run shelter), so trying to get the most out of it.

As long as you didn’t enjoy spirit weapons (devs rendered them nearly all useless for no apparent reason by taking away their invulnerability and giving them a tiny health pool instead), and don’t mind the lack of a non-bugged ranged weapon (scepter is the same… decent damage, but a buggy and slow auto-attack), things are generally good for Guardians.
