Virtues/Valor/Firebrand – Carrion Amulet

Axe/Shield – Escape sigil/Smoldering sigil
Sword/Torch – Cleanse sigil/Smoldering sigil
(Scepter if Stoic Demeanor in GM trait is picked)

Heal: Mantra of Solace

Utility1: Mantra of Lore (Cleanses)
Utility2: Mantra of Truth (Additional Condi coverage)
Utility3: Judges Intervention (dps, heal, stunbreaker)

Elite: Mantra of Liberation

Traits
Adept: Unrelenting Criticism
Master: Weighty Terms vs Legendary Lore
Grandmaster: Loremaster

I can’t not go Radiance on Firebrand. All that juicy damage plusTome of Justice recharge on enemy death. If you go cancer, go full cancer, I say.

So here’s my version:

Virtues/Radiance/Firebrand

Axe/Shield – Smoldering/Whatever
Sword/Torch – Smoldering/Whatever

Balthasar runes. Gotta go Balth runes if you want to deal good damage with burns.

Sigil of Agility might be quite useful to cut cast times on demand and trigger Imbued Haste more often.

Heal: Mantra of Solace, but if it’s bad… well, Shelter it is.

U1: Mantra of Flame. Damage.
U2: Judge’s Intervention. Damage, mobility, stun break.
U3: Mantra of Lore or Contemplation of Purity for cleanses.

Elite: Renewed Focus. With virtues being stronger than ever, this one might become even more of a staple. Triple stunbreak on the Elite Mantra looks pretty nice though, not gonna lie.

Traits:

Adept: Archivist of Whispers. Need more charges of that delicious Burning from ToJ.

Master: Legendary Lore. Now, I don’t know how that works exactly, but if it works like I think it works… yeah. More burning and spammable AoE Aegis? I’ll take that.

Grandmaster: Loremaster. Retaining ToJ passive (even in its nerfed state) is very valuable with Permeating Wrath.

Maybe to convert 1 condition and garants some resistance to the affected allies if the guardian it’s over a condition threshold (?)
Or like Reaper’s Augury of Death: extra CD reduction based on allies struck.

With PoF i’ll try a Mantra Burnker build with Honor/Virtues/Firebrand

Vitali.5039, thats the reason i wanted shield on virtues(swap with hammer trait) xD cause that thing it would be the only anti range defense that would works (w/o using utilities) unless people starts to use meditations gaps as usual.

And swapping it with hammer triat would make shield and virtues avaliable for DH builds as well or any other build imo.

Chose Valor over Radiance because I’m not convinced that FB will self sustain itself very well. Partly because of all the high CD’s making FB skills very succeptible to getting interrupted. That and Smiter’s Boon’s 2k extra heal on Mantra Heal + additional Cleanses is just too good. I chose Mantra Elite because of the lack of stunbreakers, stability and safestomps but we’ll see how efficient the new F1’s are for a Renewed Focus.

Now, if you went full Quickness built then that’s when I’d probably go Radiance maybe. But we still need to see how FB will self-sustain itself without going into Healing power (sage) to set asside Valor.

I’ve been thinking about Honor for Pure of Heart and Pure of Voice in addition to quickness botting as my defense. If we’re going to be spamming aegis and stab, might as well get some more use out of em.

Sadly the mantras are terrible, they are too slow and clunky for PvP.
The Tomes have too long of a cooldown which makes me feel forced to go for the Virtues trait line but that’s okay since most good guardian builds use the Virtues trait line anyway.

That said, the burning this class can apply is ridiculous and through the roof. The axe number 2 skill is garbage but the axe auto attack is sooooooo good!

This is what I’ve been running:

amulet: Carrion
rune: Balthazar

weapon set 1: axe + torch (doom + smoldering)
weapon set 2: sword + focus (doom + smoldering)

6: Litany of Wrath
7: Judges Intervention
8: Smite Condition
9: Purging Flames
0: Renewed Focus (works really gimmicky with the the tomes so might wanna try “Feel My Wrath!” instead)

Virtues: Master of Consecrations > Absolute Resolution > Permeating Wrath
Valor: Smiter’s Boon > Strength in Numbers > Monk’s Focus
Firebrand: Archivist > Legendary Lore > Loremaster
