Scepter/Torch
Buy a sigil of minor bloodlust, stick it on your greatsword.
If you want stronger Single Target damage, I’d highly recommend Sword/Torch instead, since the auto attack chain will always proc the passive of Virtue of Justice, and if you don’t want to auto attack, you can use Sword 3, or Torch 5, to proc more burning.
With a decent set of gear, either go power or precision, you’ll do just fine against almost every scenario. If you need more survivability, which I doubt, use a GS and Mace/Focus for almost infinite block
Don’t forget you get a huge fireball (that does a LOAD of damage) to throw if you hit #4 twice. This is the main reason I used torch for so long, though I changed to focus at higher level for the extra blocking.
I always carry both a scepter and a sword; often times you will find that you don’t need the ranged advantage (because mobs are so weak) and the sword just kills faster and lets you teleport around. Dungeons will require you to have a scepter, however.
I’m having a blast leveling with Greatsword an Sword/Torch. I’m pretty easily able to take on multiple mobs 2-3 levels higher than me, which I haven’t been able to do with some of the other classes (I am also leveling weaponsmith/armorsmith as I go, so every 5 levels I have new gear). You’ve got access to two quick gap closers and tons of single target and AOE. As soon as possible I grabbed Retreat and Save Yourself for the speed bursts (they also provide great defense/boons so very versatile). My third utility is usually Purging Flames (low-ish cooldown, AOE condition removal and fire combo field = perfet with GS and it’s 3 combofinishers). Try that out and hopefully you’ll have as much fun as I have, it’s quick leveling and a ton of fun ==> Blinding blade, pull in a bunch of mobs, drop the symbol, leap, spin to profit + once you’ve blown all your cooldowns switch to sword/torch, light yourself on fire and annihilate anything that’s left. No downtime. Have fun!
I’d also carry around a staff, just for the purpose of dropping Symbols for Swiftness.
What build do you use for this? Also what stats are best? I was thinking Carrion gear. For good damage from attacks, and burning.
Im an AH guardian for the most part. And while i love that build in pvp and dungeons, solo it is SO boring. So ive been playing with different builds and eventually got around to a full berserker scepter/torch build with afew minor survivability traits. Holy cow can this setup burst. Id highly recommend power/crit/crit damage
Build im using is 10/30/20/5/5 btw
I’m only level 52 on my Chardian, but this is where I’m at now:

You probably need to cut and past the links….
I’d also carry around a staff, just for the purpose of dropping Symbols for Swiftness.
I just can not use the staff this way. I wish I could, but when I’m running forward, I tend to cast the symbol and run past it before it triggers. Then I have to run back to hit it and feel like that’s probably not saving me too much time lol. It’s tough too, because my guys a big char, ans when I don’t have swiftness up it feels like I’m CRAWLING….. Oh well, reduced CD on the 2 shouts usually keeps be running between mobs, then by the time I’m done clearing an area I can stack my shouts and be off to the next mob.
