I imagine they improved the damage?
also being @ master or grandmaster doest bother much since u are obligated to take a full trait line.
Don’t know if there is any damage improvement, it was just a little way to finish off targets or help with spikes.
It was a master trait before. It appears that the guardian is getting even more nerfed to fight in close quarters and Shattered Aegis would synergize with Symbolic Avenger.
I’m not trying to get off the subject to much, all the changes and forced trait lines etc. is open to discussion elsewhere.
They increased the damage of Shattered Aegis (I think double), but it’s still mediocre.
It may be used in PvP depending on the numbers on Symbolic Avenger, since it’s hard to keep enemy players on symbols.
It’s damage has been increased I think to 600+ base. Which Karl explained that in one of the tests they achieved 1k crit’s in “pretty tanky” gear. I assume a full glass 6/6/6/0/0 medi build will get pretty high numbers.
Also as far as I remember the shatter dmg is 5 targets AoE from each aegis that has been stripped. That includes yours and the allies that your applied it too. This would create some interesting play with Communal Defenses. Imagine +3k crits from 5 players while you reapply it again…
As I said in another thread they really should make shattered AEGIS is minor and merge the other 2 minors.
As for what to put in the grand master slot, I’d love to see a personal quickness buff that proc’s on critical hits.
Something like
“Zealous Speed” Gain quickness when your critically hit. 4 second duration, 15-20 second cool down.
That would be good in pretty much any area of the game.

A trait related quickness buff would be great and deserve a grandmaster spot, I totally agree.
As much as I like your suggestion Ragnar, we need to stop with these on crit effects. Its starting to get out of hand and honestly, we need to get rid of all this RNG in our PvP. Sure, I like my rage sigil, but we just need to stop. Personally, I’d prefer if SA did around smite condition’s damage per aegis burst, which would be a tad bit OP if you couple it with something communal defenses and fragments of light, but a grandmaster does deserve that much power if utilized properly.

What if in addition to the damage shattered AEGIS also dazed your attacker?
I’d consider that worthy of a grand master slot. Imagine how useful that would be, offense through defense.
Now that’s perfect. Its exactly how the guard is meant to be played. I just hope anet is still open to suggestions or we might end up waiting another year for this.
