Guild Wars 2

I was in WvW trying to heal and block from massive Zerg camping my server’s safe zone.
I was downed while using shelter. I noticed the block in the ui, but somehow the AoE and attacks still got me.
Can anybody explain what went wrong?

Shelter doesn’t block AoE. You can also walk through it with Stability. Shelter is kinda terribad for the CD.

one thing i can think of was did you have any existing conditions that did DoT on you? as the heal only applies after the block ends.

hmm are you talking about Sanctuary?

He’s talking about Shelter, not Sanctuary.

Shelter does not stop condition damage.

dude what am i talking about haha. Yea Shelter doesn’t stop cond dmg. I get them mixed up, sorry

There also exists unblockable attacks. Necro marks can be traited to be unblockable. Thieves are another one.
