Shield of Absorption actually weak!
If you hit it twice the shield explodes to heal you. If you activate once the shield stays up. It works fine.

I feel its fine. Try to look at it this way, shield of absorption is comparable to wall of reflect which is a utility skill. In addition it also heals. Shield is basically two utility slots moved to weapon slots.

I don’t think those 3 points can determine whether a skill is weak or not.
1 & 2 apply to Ring of Warding too; but I don’t think anyone has complained about it.

Why bother being a Guardian if you don’t guard anyone?

I’d prefer if SoA blocked instead. There aren’t many unblockable projectiles in the game, and the benefit of blocking would be a great help.
The trait for SoA on revive attempt is also kinda lame. 60s CD for a 4s effect, and no trait synergy. Compared to mesmer’s feedback on revive, lasts 6s, +2s with temporal enchanter (doesn’t mix with glamour mastery), and has an icd of 10s. It has a 60-80% uptime compared to our 6%. I know SoA provides a knock back, but it doesn’t help against stable foes or anything else that prevents stomp interruption.
SoJ scales very well with power, but I think it still needs something small.

I hate to be that guy, but no, it’s not at all.
I’m going to be captain obvious here and remind you that Shield of Absorption absorbs and Wall of Reflection reflects. WoR can be placed at a spot and you can continue fighting, SoA locks you in place while absorbing. Being locked in place usually spells defeat.
I won’t speak for others, but I use SoA 90% of the time for its knockback effect since it’s projectile absorption and healing are both lackluster.

I said comparable, not the same.

Actually I love my shield and WoA. only gripe I have with it is that the WoA needs to last a second longer, and maybe knock back slightly farther OR slow ppl if they enter the field after knockback. I use it mainly to resist zergs and push the frontline to win fights, and has been working marvelously in WvW due to this. Saving people before using sanctuary, to push people off cliffs, to block burst projectiles, etc. ( generally to make space ).
This skill offers a lot in different situations with just a button ( or arguably 2 ). This skill is the only skill for guards that can actually push people out of RIng of warding or line of warding without them having stability.

Make it synergy with “on block” traits can be a good change too…
I love SoA. My real problem with the shield is the #4 skill. Please make this a blast finisher!
Honestly, I think it’s the only conjured weapon ever worth using since it’ll get you through things like Legendary Imbued Shaman.
its fine…….unfortunately for shield tho, focus is much better
