The wiki claims shielded mind (30 points in virtues) turns courage into a aoe stunbreak for everyone. This seems pretty powerful and rare to me, or am i missing a key point? (obviously not many people put 30 into virtues)

I think you partially answered your own question with the dedicated 30 points into virtues making it a very tailored build to take that talent.

Additionally with the excessive amount of stuns that can occur in team play or even in aoe pve, one stun break is not enough. Most tend to take Indomitable Courage instead for the extended duration of stability to prevent more stuns and the like from hindering the group.

Why not take them together? I think some do, but most pick Absolute Resolution for a bit more spread out utility for the group instead of just stuns and stability, they can remove conditions as well.

It doesn’t AoE stunbreak.

I think you’ll find it does.

It breaks stuns on all allies within effective range. Unless they bugged it one of the last couple of patches.

Last time I used it was at Halloween in the Mad King event to cancel group fear on the ledges ( I was just playing around and testing it )

…as others have noted I’ve really not found utility for it that isn’t better served with having Absolute Resolution or Indomitable courage ( which has the same effect, but better ).

To be honest, I hope they merge it out in the upcoming trait patch and replace it with something more useful

Well I was testing in tPvP and it doesn’t work at all. Unless ‘effective radius’ means literally ontop of your character.

If any allies receive the aegis/protection active effect then they should also get the stun break… it’s probably just bugged in tPvP ( or generally been broken recently, I’ve not tried it for a while )

Really the only time I might consider it, is when running a full consecration build, when you have no ready access to stun breaks ( unlike a shout or meditation build has )
