Which one do you think they’ll be giving us?

They’re really the only two weapons that make sense, seeing as as we have a spirit long bow utility.

In my opinion shortbow would be better. I mean, it would fit better, not work better for me. But still, Zoltreez is right, bow in general doesnt really fit guardian profession.

Being able to use Wings of Dwayna on a guardian would be wonderful.

Why do people say bow doesn’t fit the Guardian profession? No where has Guardian ever been defined as anti-bow. Flavor wise Guardian is a class that protects and supports its allies. Not like you can’t have a bow that does that.

Its not even like defender based classes in other fantasy games have been anti-bow in the past. At least since D&D 3.5, archer clerics and archer paladins have been a thing. In Pathfinder, one of the highest damaging builds for Paladins uses a bow. FF4 the main cleric character uses a bow and the main character who becomes a a paladin can use a bow and needs to at one point in the game.

Which one do you think they’ll be giving us?

Neither. I think the Guardians as in-fighers is an established and central aspect they won’t be overthrowing on their first foray into specializations.

They’re really the only two weapons that make sense, seeing as as we have a spirit long bow utility.

What an amazingly limited perspective. They’ve shown for coming up on 3 years that having the spirit bow doesn’t mean they have to be able to use bows themselves.

I’d put off-hand sword well ahead of bows for fitting into the Guardian’s kit.

They’re giving Rangers staff and Necros greatswords. A Guardian with a Bow wouldn’t be crazy in comparison.

from a previous thread I posted
If they do give us a bow, it’ll be a short bow that has a similiar skill set as our Spirit Bow. Just like our off hand shield and spirit shield…

  1. AA faster than the scepter, half the damage. 900 range
  2. Barrage location with arrows, healing the area. 5s duration. Channeling: 3s 1200 range. 30s cd
  3. (3x) cleansing arrow that cures 3 conditions on yourself and allies. 40s cd
  4. Instantly pull targets towards you with a grasping arrow. 15s
  5. (Ward) Shoot a slow arcing, blue flamed arrow. Foes struck burn. Allies struck gain 2s regen. Arrow falls to the ground making blue flames in a 120 radius for 2s. Foes caught are burned. Allies inside gain regen 2s.

I hope the skill set is better than the above… Then again our Shield is very bad itself so I wouldn’t be surprised.
