Skill: Leap of Faith.
I’ve had this happen when I haven’t selected my target even though they are right in front of me, the guardian will leap in just about any other direction than towards the enemy.
I was thinking it had something to do with critters automatically being targeted, though I’ve had it happen in sPvP, so I’m not sure.
Alatum Interitum
Had it happen a lot to me. For my vuln build, I’d often use Judge’s Intervention paired up with Leap of Faith. I activate the skills fairly close to each other. After this recent patch, activating them close together (Even when the enemy is clearly targeted) I’ll teleport close to the enemy, and then leap in the complete opposite direction.
Hmm, I’ve played guardian since the first beta weekend and I haven’t encountered this issue thus far. :o
Well I’ve also played a Guardian since the first beta weekend and this happens to me wait what???
Yeh, back on topic… This happens to me all the time, especially in PvP about 25% of the time, sometimes worse.
Happening mostly with close range usage.
Yeah close range usage seems to be where it happens most, It seems to not recognise that you have targeted something close to you and instead jumps towards something a lot further away.
Or you completely jump over the targeted mob, completely missing and have to run back to mob.
It happens because the leap tracks the target and tries to compensate for where it will be when the leap connects. If the target is running at you at a given speed, his projected location 1s later may end up being behind you, so you leap backwards to that point.
It’s a bit annoying but it’s a fairly rare occurrence, easily avoided, and the alternative would be much more annoying.
