I know this has been a debated conversation for a while, but I’d like to get an opinion from my fellow guardians regarding this matter. Post-patch I see majority of guardians out going full zerker gear in addition to condition damage to effect burn dmg.
Due to this I am wondering if Soldier stats (Toughness, Power, Vitality) is still the optimal way to go. I tried changing my gear to full zerker, and yes the damage is great, however with 11-13k health pool and feeling so squishy, is it really that optimal in PvE in the long run?
And regarding WvW, when metabattle as well as own experience tells me to go for Soldier gear, is going zerker worth it? Personally I’d avoid making two sets of armor for PvE and WvW, and I am currently struggling to see what benefits the most after this patch. A word of advice?

For ascended armor I went with soldiers since I mostly do WvW and open world events. Even with fotm I can do lvl 50 dailies with zerker weapons/trinkets and still pull respectable numbers. It’s my understanding there will be no new dungeons for the xpac so unless your diehard fotm I like pvt for my all around armor set and simply change your weapons/trinkets depending on what your doing since they are much easier to obtain.

I would agree with Preacher. Soldier armor is a solid set and adjust your weapons/accessories to tweak your stats.

Ive been using a mix of zerk/soldier armor ever since i hit 80 months ago. I will probably replace the remaining zerk pieces with soldier or knights. I already have nearly every kind of accessory and weapon stat there is.

I’m not the BEST pve player in the game but why do you need PVT when you have aegis/blinds/blocks?

I now went back to Soldiers set with zerker weapons (GS/Scepter+Torch) and PVT Staff for WvW reasons obviously. Keeping 3/6 trinkets to Zerk and easily swapped with 6/6 soldiers if needed. Feeling MUCH better again <3

I will be running a Shoutbow back line support DH come HOT if that counts
