Guild Wars 2

Hey,
So after a year, I think I’ve finally decided to make a Guardian.
Now, I’d like to hear if there are any competitive Solo roaming builds for a Guardian. Now, I don’t mean Meditation one in particular, I look for something durable, not necessarily with high burst, but sustained dps. Please take note I’m fairly new to this class, I have basic knowledge on builds and gameplay from some tpvp, but WvW solo roaming differs a bit.
I want to have good recovery, acceptable condition cleansing. I kind of like Hammer, Greatsword and Sword. Any options for me?

there is my build I use. It has great burst, great sustained DPS after the burst, and AWESOME escape options with 2 teleports, a leap, and 25% more move speed.

downsides:

1. Have to be good at blinding/blocking/dodging if you wanna live
2. Only CC relies on weapon swapping

Not the highest kind of damage output, but rather survivable. You can stack rune sets for boon duration instead of getting the condi clears from solider’s runes, and you can use purity instead of defender’s flame if you want more condi clears.

To support ninjambo’s post I have to say traveler’s runes are a must have (for me at least) when solo roaming as a guardian. You have to sacrifice too much to have perma-swiftness as a guardian and being pigeonholed into always using staff will hurt you while roaming. Not to mention you won’t you be able to escape zergs or catch other roamers without some sort of consistent speed boost.
