I have been doing Ascalonian Catacombs a few times now, and I realized how easy it is to do certain Champions(or elite champions? those with purple ring around). Kholer, for example, is one of them I could just sit and auto attack and use skill #2. Whenever he decided to use his grab-spin combo I used aegis or dodged. My other teammates who weren’t guardians had a hard time. This made me think, are guardians, if built correctly, able to solo any dungeon path? If anyone knows, please comment. I’m even not fully built into defense. Doesn’t matter which dungeon, but I used this one as an example.

Also, the first spider boss is easy too, just the ads can be a bit difficult. Howling king is easy to predict, and shelter/double dodge counters his scream.

Some warn that the Mursaat will return to agonize the people of Tyria once more.

It’s possible to solo pretty much any boss with any class. The problem with soloing dungeons is that there are some portions that you simply can’t do solo. CoE sub and CoF 1+2 are the most obvious ones that come to mind, as well as Underground Fractal and Swamp Fractal.

Well, Ascalonian Catacombs are in my opinion the easiest Dungeon in the whole game but:
There are events (not bosses) you propably can’t solo, on Path 1 the breaking Point (atleast in my opinion) would be the event with the six Burrows you need to destroy simply cause you can’t stop both “lines” of borrows.
Path two, the trap-part is impossible cause you can’t use the traps allone
Path three is propably the easiest to solo (if you are an Elementalist) because the only true problem would be the event in the lovers room and with Staff Fire 5 and Frostbow 4 it might be possible. Every other class? I don’t think so.

If you want a challange, two-man the dungeon, it’s fairly easy (done it on all three paths) and still a challange.

You could probably kite away the burrow spawns in path one while DPSing them down as fast as possible. Tome of Courage can also full-heal Hodgins which may or may not buy you some time. It might be hard but doable.

Also, for part 2 you’d just have to kill all the scavengers yourself. I could imagine it being done.

CoF, on the other hand, is actually impossible. You can’t open the last door in CoF path 1 solo nor can you run the torches three times by yourself.

Kholer is suppose to be a gimmick boss, but he preys on players with little experience or low FPS.

Guardians have it easy because of Virtue of Courage giving passive Aegis.
Learning to dodge Kholer’s pull is not something you pick up immediately, and people forget about him quickly when they move on to the next dungeon and come back later.

As for solo’ing: No.

Dungeons can be 4-manned if your group is really good. Some easier routes can be 3-manned, but solo is outright impossible given how the dungeons are designed.

Example: The mob trap in AC’s path 2.
You need at least 3 people to handle that part. 2 to pull the chains, alternating between 2. And 1 person keeping the mobs on the traps.

“Bleeding, Poison, Confusion, Torment, they all look delightful on you.”

People solo dungeons all the time. There are videos of a melee warrior soloing Arah. It takes him like half an hour to kill Lupicus but he does it.

AC is soloable. There are some parts that might be annoying but it can be done I’m sure.

For Arah, I’m calling BS
Why? Cause 3 ways are impossible allone and the only not-impossible way is Path 2 and I doubt anyone could fight his way through the Spider-Cave or run through it as a warrior.
(Way 1 needs 4 people to clog the tar-geysirs, Way 3 needs atleast 2 people to carry those Orb-thingys and Way 4 needs 5 for the High-Priest of Grenth)

For AC: Show me a video and we can talk

That AC boss has a long telegraphed animation and if I remember rightly also a flash just before he throws the scorp wires telling you when to dodge/block/get behind a pillar. If they’re having issues with it they might want to work on their dodge skills or use those pillars.

Some dungs you might be able to solo parts of, but all… nah, sorry… you need teamwork (not a bad thing imo).
