Spirit Weapons not transparent
Spirit weapons will be fixed in the next big patch, coming up in april, whit some other “big” changes on skills and traits.
one of the changes is probably the target of the bow, that become a Target AoE skill, and you can chose the position.
For the hammer, the skill knock down the enemy. If you’ve no enemy in target for the AI there’s no enemy. The hammer is not an auto seeking weapon and can’t find the enemy by itself.
I hope the shield will be ferixed to follow you while move, because actually is hard to use it well, expecially in wvsw. Abd the skill… I don’t know. We can hope it become a Target AoE, but all depends on ANet decisions.
And, more important, there’s the possibility that they chose to make Spirit Weapons Immune to Direct Damage (but not to CC and Conditions). That can make us, little poor guardians, able to use for a build.
An useless build, but a build.
And if we’re lucky wi can find a new Spirit Weapon Elite Skill. A Spirit Staff Weapon that heal and inflict damage.
But everything is in ANet hands… we can only wait and hope.

It would be nice to make spirit weapons useful. In their current state, they aren’t.
