Hi there,
after playing months of PvE-only, i decided to try WvW now with my guard. After reading through some threads i picked up this meditation build which i wanna play (some changes here and there but in generell it´ll look like this)

So where im stucking right now is the gear/stats that a meditation-guard must have in WvW. (No Zerging, but playing solo or in smaller groups)
Personally, i would try to reach these stats:

~ 2000 power (3000 attack)
~ 55% crit-chance (+15% of RHS so ~70%)
~ 1400 toughness (2700 armor)
~ 1500 vitality (16500 life)
and optional ~ 95% crit-dmg

First Question: Are these Stats ok? Or something to change?

Second Question: Which gear (+ runes, sigills and infusions)?

yeah i know, sentinel armor, but to reach those stats it fits best with berserk jewelry.

So the main question for me is:
- Stats ok? Or more here, less there?
- And which gear then? (+ runes, sigills and infusions)

Right hand strength wont show on your character sheet, so you actually have 52% crit chance, before fury. 3k armor and 15k health, combined with all the blocks and blinds you can put out, as well as a 2k heal on every meditation use, (the shortest one being 16sec, best used as another big damager with a condition on you) make this a very survivable build. Remember to use the shield on focus not for defense, but for offense. When it explodes, it can do upwards of 7k on glassies. Im not sure if you know, but you wanna precast it before a fight, and a split second before it explodes cast the immob on scepter and JI. Nearly half their health will be gone, and they’ll be immobilized.

Runes of Speed – Infusions all Vitality.

I think the QoL for that will be better for you if you’re roaming.

Also, once you get your WvW buff’s, you can add another 2500 hps.

What Amins said, runes of speed for a nice vit boost plus the passive 25% speed boost. Have not had any issues keeping up with people since i converted. For sigils go force for the free 5% damage on sword, i personally use fire sigils for my on crit, simple because they are AoE and can help in 1vX situations, or in small group play. Sigil of generosity is also nice but still expensive, but is fun when you transfer a full set of bleed stacks back on your target. But mostly it is nice just to have the added condition removal on a 10s CD.

but in generell, are those stats ok or is there a nonsense? or can i go down with one of them and push another a lil bit?
dont know if i really need about 70% crit-chance f.e.

Aim for 2-2.2k power, 1500-1800 toughness, 15-17k health, 70-100% crit dmg, and 35-50% crit chance (with RHS)

Something I might suggest, Would be to try to find 5 points for Vigorous precision. The free 100% Vigor up time is really big for guardians, as it can help negate a large amount of damage. Most people opt to lose the 10 points in zeal for 5 in honor and 5 in virtues. you could honestly stand to move 5 out of radiance though if you wanted to, since you already have naturally high crit. It WILL hurt your burst from 1h sword, but considering you are not running 2x 1h for your weapons it doesn’t effect your GS at all.

I took Full Berserker armor and weapons, because besides WvW i play alot PvE with full berserker gear. And getting new ascended jewelry with other stats is easier than to craft a whole new ascended armor and weapons.
So i just have to change my jewelry when im entering WvW
edit: dont forget to buy only 1 soldier ring and 1 valkyrie (and not 2 soldier rings), so that you can use just def-infusions. (same for earrings)

Honestly, I would dish out and focus on getting the crit damage off the armor and onto the trinkets. Most armor has a horrible conversion ratio (other than gloves/boots) for crit damage : actual stats. While trinkets have the best, mostly from what was the gem slot being 5:1.

You lose 13 armor, and gain 50 life and 12% crit damage. The main point obviously being the crit damage gain.

I would run retributive armor instead of defender’s flame and get rid of any toughness gear and use valk’s. You are going to get a boost to your offense and with the amount of blinds, blocks, and aegis you should be fine with damage negation and only a small loss to damage reduction.

Your power is too low in relation to your crit chance and damage.

While you don’t have to match those values as they are for best dps, you can use it as a determinator for threshold values that you want to move away from. In your case, you need a lot more power in your build. Best thing to do is to reduce crit chance and go for more power.

If you are theorycrafting around all ascended, in your case, use sentinel weapons, and then swap out shoulders, hands, legs, and feet for berserker. Those have a better stat to crit damage ratio (12.5 stats per 1% crit damage) than weapons (13.4 stats per 1% crit damage).

If you are willing to change your stats around, I would suggest trying to up your armor a bit more. As you are running meditation, you want high quality HP, not high max pool.

I don’t think rune of wurm is bad, but there are probably better options out there. Additionally, losing 3% damage for 25 vit is not worth it, in addition to reasons stated above.

If you are willing to change your traits, don’t neglect 5 in virtue. On-demand protection is the best method for guaranteeing high quality HP. That alone, when used right, will more than make up for any amount of vitality you can add to your max pool.

Lastly if I may, your build has no source of swiftness, no immobilize/warding or passive movement speed increase. You will get kited around really hard.
