Stats for hammer?
There’s a reason everyone runs zerker, and that’s because it’s the only good set for guardian. You simply don’t get good DPS out of condition damage on guardian, since you only burn.
If you want to run hammers, though:

I’m not looking for maximum damage. I have a warrior and thief in berserker gear already, and they kill fast and die fast. I’m looking for a more balanced build.
That is a balanced build. You could run AH hammer with 10/0/30/30/0 but that’s pretty much full tank mode.
I love when Guanglai talks in absolutes about gear. There are plenty of people (including people far more respected, mainly due to his attitude) who use knights gear to anchor for groups and still put out good damage.
Obtena made pretty good burn builds, here are the links to the said builds that may help you:
Her PvE Burn build:
And the PvP version:
Though you may need to remove 10 points from the PvP version since you want to use Meditations for the 30-Valor Monk trait.

Guanglai does have an attitude, but I have to admit he does have a point at times.
Knights & AH are perfect for the many balanced variations of the cookie-cutter build of 30/30/10, and can even be a defensive-overload if paired with a Hammer. To a degree it can even be said that the said stat build and trait build are training wheels for dungeon/fractal running and is always handy for use in an disorganized, inexperienced Pick-Up Group.
I think his point is that there are better builds to do role X or role Y than the balanced do-it-all but not do-X-or-Y-better AH Knights build, and that if you grown past the point of not needing the AH healing from a lot of practice in your PvE encounters, then an increase in damage or support would suit you just fine —- As that 30 valor is simply sitting pretty from you not getting hit that much anymore from all that good practice.

And yet he managed to convey none of that with his posts. On the other hand, you did a masterful job, and the OP should take notice.
Since you have a legendary mace… Maybe try 10/30/30/0/0 build? Mace can put out some good numbers, I especially like the big hits Protectors Strike gives when running ‘DPS’ gear. Mace isn’t as high on the dps scale as other weapons but I feel the extra support it gives is worth the slight dps loss. Throw a torch on for your Burning and do some tanky DPS.
10/30/0/30/0 will give you good damage and you still get Pure of Voice or EM or the ability to work with really any weapon you want.

You get significant uptime on burning with mace/torch, and it can represent a significant portion of your dps on a defensive build (say right hand strength + symbols 0/30/10/30/0 with toughness gear). This type of build works fairly well with the all stat gear—healing scales well with dodge rolls/regen, enough toughness to make the healing matter, you get high crit rate for the crit dmg, good burning uptime for condi dmg.
The problem is that often times other people are going to be bringing burning too, and they don’t stack at all. A bonus is that this setup is the only 1 handed setup to be AOE with constant symbols, aoe burn, and an aoe block. Because it is symbol based it has good synergy with hammer, just less in the way of burning.

Anyone have experience with something like this?
Me. I see someone posted my builds. I think the ones in my signature are more up to date but you will probably customize to suit your purpose anyways.
There isn’t much to explain for the PVE one. You get 8 seconds of burning (enough to kill the average Orr mob) from active VoJ. The gravy part of this build is when you realize you can swap Carrion gear for as much Traveler’s gear as you are comfortable using. That IMO is the ultimate farm build in the game.
The PVP is just a trick I thought of to avoid the weakness of condition damage in PVP. I get 2 seconds of passive VoJ … every 2 and a bit seconds. Almost 100% burning uptime. It’s a nice approach … if someone blows a condition remover, the burn is up two seconds later. If they don’t, they are always on fire. I shouldn’t have to remind anyone that conditions ignore defense values either so basically, I’m melting alot of tanks and thieves with this.
If you do insist on using a mace with burning, you will probably want to adapt the 2 second passive VoJ idea to PVE because it will take you longer to kill stuff. To do it you need the following:
1. Highest pizza for food (40%)
2. 3 flame Legion, 3 Balthazar runes (30%)
3. Smoldering Sigil (10%)
4. 20 in Zeal (20%)
You could also get 10% more duration using a Giver weapon. That would free up some traits or the sigil, but it’s critical to get that 100% increase in duration.

If you’re in a party, active VoJ will burn a target for 25/30 seconds. If anyone has any condition duration, it’ll probably be 100%, easy.
Torch for solo is a different matter, but honestly I still don’t think it’s that great.

Just when you think you have a good grasp on a class a small but significant detail works its way out and you get another /facepalm.. I’ve always liked Torch to keep burning going and until recently haven’t made much use of the VoJ spam. After this revelation I’ll be switching into shield or focus if burning can be kept up…
