no manticore what we are saying is that guardian is one of the best escapers in WvWvW and people keep ignoring it. We have by far the best condition removal, invunerability and damage negation. An elementalist may be able to ride the lightning, but when he gets immobalised even by a few people, it’s over for him, guardian always has another option, and is by far superior in dealing with multiple foes and running away from them (if not a zerg of 50) then ANY other class. Thiefs may be able to hide, but a guardian or ele can unhide em in a second, ele’s may be able to run, but most time the’ll die being locked down.

As for playing melee in WvWvW, do not overextend, i’m a melee guardian, and i pick up 20-30 kills in zergs without even dieing once, just because so many people are stupid, overextend and i lock em and pull em in my zerg.

There is not a single class that can run into an enemy zerg and not die, but guardian is by far the best as surviving mistakes

So you do have tried any combination but missed out that there is a rune that puts you in Mistform when under 10% HP? While being 3-4 seconds invulernable you are able to use heal and other utilitys like snow leopard.

And yes, Mistform is the panic-button Eles have, also Engineers have Elexir S which is no difference to that mechanic. Yes, Mesmers and Eles have Blink because they are Casters. Engineers, Warrior, Rangers and Necros don’t. Thiefs invisibility doesn’t make him invulernable, neither loosing focus of channeling skills noir staying immune to AoE damage. Yes that blink with the shortbow seems a bit odd, maybe that will get nerfed soon (if they didnt do that already).

Oh wait, dont Guardians have almost a thousand different panic buttons?

Do you want the Hammerdin from D2 with teleport, casting, invulerability/lifeleach while beeing in meele range? Then go play that game instead, or learn to live with what you have.

Good luck imobilizing a class that has 98% less duration of immobilize chill and cripple.
How? Trait 33% less Immobilize chill and cripple, use rune of melandru 165 toughness -25% stun and -25% condition duration, Food -40% condition duration. Add that up and you get 98% less imobilize chill cripple wich makes any imobilze chill or cripple not affect u AT ALL also conditions like burn and poison and weakness and such last -65% less. Stun effects last a split second only like 100ms instead of a second and dont affect you at all.

At 10% hp (IF I USE MAX HP GEAR for 25000 hp) im at 2500 hp or bellow if other gear and im praticly dead from all condition stacks already or a late calculated dmg hit from someone lol. It never even gave me a chance to go into mistform. Im in downed state in mistform yay.
In zerg vs zerg if u dont use something at 50% hp your pretty much dead mate if the ppl focus you.

That’s EXACTLY the kind of response I’m talking about. “guardian is one of the best escapers… we have the best damage negation.” WTF?

I can see how if you bend logic like a pretzel you can call condition removal an escape mechanic… and therefore Necros are frigging Houdini, right? But damage negation? Seriously?

That’s really great advice for a melee class. Do not overextend. How exactly do you manage that?

Oh, so melee classes should run around inside the zerg doing jack all hoping to make someone blunder into your range. I suppose that’s one way to survive. Killing someone who’s in the middle of the zerg is definitely not a totally redundant skill or anything.

As long as “Survive” does not mean “Escape”.

Look, I don’t completely agree with the OP, but do him the service of actually addressing what he says. If you want to make the case that condition removal is an escape mechanic, then make it, don’t assert it.

And definitely don’t respond “What do you mean, you can’t escape if you need to? Why, I killed 3 deleveled thieves in the jumping puzzle once!”
