Guild Wars 2

Ok so this is my first post so bear with me plz

I run a support/bunker Guard i play all game modes but manly WvW roaming with 2-3 of my mates my current build is below:

Now i looked at DH when it was first shown and was like ‘meh’ but thought i would give it a shot and would give it a try on my support Guard, i will be taking traits/skills shown in this build:

now i didn’t get a chance to test this out if the last beta weekend so if any1 didn’t try it out for support how did they find it? and what are people thoughts on the above builds?

At the cost of sounding mean (not that i really care mind you):

This is not wow, or any other MMO where it costs you 100+ gold to respec and regear. It takes you 2 min of your valuable time to go into heart of the mists and play around with every possible spec for your class.

The DH is still new and people have no clue what they are doing. Don’t expect any insight just yet. My best advice would be to try it out for yourself.

if you play on every game mode with your guardian, chances are you know quite a bit about it. So just go out and experiment!

I do experiment, that how I got to the build I currently have, I’m asking in case any1 had tested DH as support as i missed my chance in last weekend is all

I did, it didn’t really work out very well. The longbow offers virtually no significant support, virtues get downgraded (especially supportively), the traits don’t offer anything of significant supportive value, and besides Fragments of Fate the traps don’t do much for a support guardian. For a support guardian, taking DH means giving up Honor, Valor, or Virtues. When I tried it, I dropped Valor because I wanted emphasis on support, but the Virtues spec wasn’t very useful because DH botches virtues so hard that the trait line essentially became useless. I might’ve done better with taking Valor, but I doubt it. As a support guardian, I don’t see myself giving up Virtues/Honor/Valor for DH.

Next time I get my hands on it, I might attempt some sort of Zeal/Honor aegis-spam support build via Fragments of Fate/Retreat/Shield of the Avenger for funsies, but I don’t expect that to be effective either.

No, nothing Dragonhunter offers is better than the current setup with the exception of maybe the grandmaster protection trait. Neutering your virtues to be a dragonhunter is not worth it for bunkers.

the current iteration of the DH trait clashes on every level with the virtues trait, so much so that if you spec into DH, it is better to forgo virtues trait entirely to take something else.

DH and bunker/support do not belong in the same sentence. for a pure support standpoint, you won’t find anything remotely even close to 50% effective as the current version of the meta bunker if you spec into DH.
