Sword/Focus + Scepter/Torch DPS Guard [VID]
It’s a fun build. My bud and I like to call it the man mode guardian.
Wish torch #5 was better, though.
This is what I run. It’s nice to be able to substitute in Valkyrie gear because of how easy it is to get a high crit chance while using RHS.
I really like to play one hander medi guard too at times, its very strong in terms of dueling capabilities! Though I hold my items a little different, I like Sword/Torch Scepter/Focus for some reason; gives me some range to poke with on the sword set too, but to each and their own right?
Between Sword 2 and Scepter on switch, most people find you harder to kite than regular greatsword or hammer mediguard. I also run Hydromancy on sword because I love that chill.
Biggest trade off though is definitely the lack of interrupts. You start to feel it more against teams that are more coordinated and work well together.

You’ve actually discovered an older meta build Holl! At the time, conditions were prominent and the build had little to no protection. Thus, 21614 was ever more popular due to it’s more team oriented style and extra sustains from cleanses.
I’ve actually never seen it in action! I use a 62600 burst GS build but this one looks more fun :P

No CC is a bummer yea Hydromancy is a nice suggestion though… I like sword/focus because of focus #4 > Sword #2 and scepter/torch because Scepter #3 > Torch #4

I am with Lumines on the weapon combos.
Basically you could squeeze out burst a little faster and be even more bursty. Suggested rotation:
start scepter/focus: sc3, sc2, f5, f4 swap sw2, t4, t4, AA
pros:
- you could ensure a t4 hit more reliable since you are closer (t4misses a lot if ranged and if executed quickly you wouldnt feel a difference anyway)
- it will add a +3% damage modifier to torch due to the blind
- you get the inital 3sec burn of torch 4 on the target which will ensure the 10% damage modifier.
cons:
- you dont have the access to f5 while in melee (but since thats used for burst it is not that big of a deal)
- rotations is a little harder to pull off because your time frame is shortened as well but seeing your quick reflexes and rotations that should not be an issue.
but hex if you are more successfull the other way around who am I to judge.
(hydromancy makes more sense on the scepter set however since when you port to the target the effect is gone. if you need to disengage it helps a lot in addition to its damage.)

I would have to doubt that.
you lose a lot of crit chance, (partywide!) fury uptime and infight swiftness for “only” 7% more damage and “better” burns (we are talking about +50 burn dps here and about 40% less crit chance). Need to test it but I think you rather devide the damage output then increasing it. Which could be a good thing but it reduces burst which is the point of the build – and it also makes it more dangerous. The longer the fight the worse you are off. Medi guard needs to kill fast.
So in my eyes your build is a different concept. If you go down that road I prefer Sayians burn build with krait runes and carrion.
