I’ve recently became interested in Sword/Torch play. Any they any builds that state what gear is recommended for them? I’ve looked all over the place, but I can’t find many trust-worthy ones that aren’t downgraded in comments.

I’ve been running soldier stats on a GS since release, so I’m looking to mix it up.

S/T really can be run with any type of build. Big thing is gear choice. They’re burst weapons so you need to go more dps focused gear (zerker, knight, and rampager etc.) Going Solider or Cleric isn’t playing to the weapon’s strengths. That being said they’re a few builds that it works better for.

Those are the most common setups for the most part, traits differ on the player.

I personally use S/T with a 0/5/30/30/5 build. It works fantastic because my gear is more dps oriented.

it takes a little getting use to but it bursts pretty hard. ive been using it recently and im loving the numbers. i would take a look at harbinger’s post on “paragon build” its a great way to find out what kind of gear you would need to get ur dps up to make that setup pretty beasty.

like Harbinger mentioned, it’s a pretty darn DPS oriented set. and extremely fun to play! it works great with a Right Hand Strength build, with the likes of the second setup Harbinger posted – x/30/30/x/x. though of course, not necessary.

do you mean you’re running full PVT gear? or just on the GS?
if you have a full set of PVT gear, you can go full zerker trinkets and weapon for very decent damage as well and i can see sword/torch excel there. though, SLIGHTLY less tanky if that’s what you’re used to.

I love using the sword and torch its really fun to play with. I use gs in my main set with sword and torch in my alt set. traits I use is 0/15/30/20/5 and my gear uses a mix of soldiers, knights and berserker soon to drop out some solders for more berserker and see how i do with that. but long as you stick to your play style you should be fine playing with it.
