Guild Wars 2

I’ve been maining a Guardian for a year and I didn’t realize what a gem this particular sub-forum is. I’ve been recently trying to focus on other professions and finding the same detailed resources that Guardians have in here is almost impossible. DnT stuff on Guru isn’t bad but it doesn’t cover the range or minutiae that we have in the Guardian forum.

Yeah we’re very fortunate to have so many active and knowledgeable folk willing to put in the time to create excellent guides and build documentation.

I was also somewhat astonished at how little theory crafting seems to be going on for the other classes… half the threads are nearly as old as the game itself (which for many classes means that the guides/resources are totally worthless because of so many buffs/nerfs in the past year). Perhaps most of the decent players have quit or simply re-rolled a Guardian? ;-)

Just a shame that Anet can’t implement a proper search engine on the forums or even create a proper build-repository (like intothemists.com) or simply a forum subsection for theory crafting for each class. It took Blizzard about 6 years to get that together (Armory) so it will probably take Anet about 3 to 4 decades (same as with the non-existent group finder and utterly atrocious auction house).

I think it is because we have a lot of interesting dynamics that are readily visible but haven’t come to fruition yet. Also we have been pigeonholed into a bunker support role, either by self design or by opinions of others, so some are trying to break the paradigms and find ways to innovate the profession and game.

I have noticed the lack of active theory crafting on other forums, and I do appreciate the active participants here Good on you all.

Can only agree, this subforum sticks out in a positive way.

This is the only profession subforum I’ve known to not have “omg OP nerf now” whiners on the daily.
