The Eternal Fire (WvW DPS Roaming Build)
What I’m looking for is opinion and thoughts from the community that could help improve this build.
THIS RESPONSE IS ONLY FOR SOLO ROAMING:
Your build doesn’t look very bursty. Your damage will be consistent DoT it appears. And without condi clearing, I don’t know if you will outlast with this build. If you met me, and you were running that, I believe this build I run will have you dead before I take very much damage from yours.

The reason I question the burst damage, is you have no heavy hitter. Generally the focus 5 is a nice burst combined with a second strike from another weapon.
Also you have the staff on swap. How often will you put this on? I feel like your dps dropoff in a 1v1 will be huge. Or do you use a different fighting wep for solo roaming?

Hi Amins I like the build, the adjustment in traits improve condition cleansing and turns VoJ into a AoE which is really nice but I feel very Unscathed Contender does very little as is difficult to have aegis up for any length of time.
I also feel the lost in VoJ been going down from 2sec burn to 1 3/4sec as I could build burn time on the enemy from VoJ alone. The loss of 10% crit dmg and reduction in JI cool down also hurts on mobility. But I could see this build helping more in the larger battles (8+ to zerg) with the AoE burn.

Regarding Solo roaming
From looking at your build my burst is no were near your level of burst but I have seen 10k dmg from 3 skill hitting. My burst involves torch #4 Zealot’s fire. Use of Bane Signet, Flashing Blades plus Zealots’s Fire gives a nice burst on a 18sec recharge and if I set this up with might stacks (15) and Bloodlust (25) and follow with sword’s AA I think you will feel this.
The tick with soloing on this build is surviving the enemy’s burst and conditions by positioning, blocks, blinds, and invul’s.
With your level of health if I can survive your 1st burst I think your will start to notice the effect of the burns plus the direct dmg but in combat this will mean your smite will always hurt. I believe it will be an interesting fight but between the two builds 1v1 yours would most likily win.
I actually use staff abit in fights. I fine LoW helpful in control of movement and with it I can usually get Empower off. The AA can hit through walls and Orb of Light on hits for over 1k and is on a 3sec recharge (if not detonated). But if only looking at solo roaming it mite be better to swap staff for Scepter / Focus.

Regarding Solo roaming
I’ve swapped Staff for Scepter / Focus both berserker’s with superior sigil of fire & superior sigil of smouldering the improvement in dmg and survivability is quite amazing. Also with Focus I now have a great condition removal (Ray of Judgement) in 1v1 which was lacking in my build (immobilizes were really hurting this build as you had to tank through them, wasting some defensive skills). I have also been thinking about superior sigil of generosity, I would lose a hit in dmg but the extra condition removal would help.
With the swap I have loss some group support (which doesn’t matter soloing) and I feel my ablitity to disengage has taken a small hit, but this is more then made up for with the in combat improvements and chasing of Scepter / Focus. I don’t have your burst Cat Has Ducks but and combi focus 5 and torch 4 can really hurt and you will always have burning on target ticking for 500+ dmg.
These improvements have help out alot thanks for the help Cat Has Ducks.
Awesome man. That is the exact change I think you needed. The focus adds so much utility, while the sceptor gives you an extra bind, as well as dropping sceptor #2 on a downed opponent is the safe way to get him dead. Also torch to sceptor is a nice way to throw a fireball(torch #4), something else to think about.
Glad I could be of help. Hope to hear more as you grow into the build.
