Guild Wars 2

Well, first of all this is my first post on this forum so hello everyone. I’m currently levelling a character on the Underworld server.

So. I have been using gw2skills.net to make my guardian a new build for when it hits 80.
I was originally looking into GreatSword but i also looked into Mace / Focus. This is what I have so far in terms of damage and health.

From now onwards CC will mean Critical Chance and CD will be Critical Damage
I have been using the sums from the Critical Hit wiki page to work out the Increase in Damage which is the IiD number

CC 79 + 15 (from Right Hand Strength) so CC 94 CD 118 = IiD 2.500 Maybe higher if CD not capped at 100%

2.500 × 3401 = 8502.5 (Damage inc Crit)

The Major, Right Hand Strength adds so much CC that it makes Mace technically do more damage than GreatSword. But GreatSword has the extra survivability from Zealous Blade.

So what is everyone’s opinion?
also the skills I have chosen are my personal preference and do not make too much difference to the numbers.

If you can work some sources of Fury into your RHS builds, then there’s less reason to go above 80% crit chance, and you can better spend the stats somewhere else.

The only way i can see to add Fury is either use 4 of Superior Rune of the Pack or 4 of Superior Rune of Rage which both only give you a 5% chance of Fury. Or to use Inner Fire Major which requires you to be set on fire by an enemies skill. So i don’t really feel that it is worth loosing 4 Runes for that.

Well it’s easy enough with a shout build, but I see you prefer signets so it’s probably not going to work for you
