Thats only 1 match when maybe their team was bad. We are not that good as you think.

not necessarily, i usually manage to get anywhere between 600-800k dmg done in a game, i think right now the Dragon Hunter is extremely strong especially in team fights with its burst and lock down potential. There are areas for improvement yes but i cant deny that at its current state it is strong.

it just depends how is your team doing, if your team is bad you will die a lot with no dmg, if your team is good you will do that kind of dmg. It also depends if you are focused or not the whole match.

That doesn’t mean anything those numbers. You probably had a bunch of idiots stand in the two aoe abilities a lot. I’d love to see you in spvp too bad your probably in unranked and hotjoin with the bads. I saw like 3 DH in 50 ranked matches this weekend and I was one of them. There will always be people that will defend crap. Go over to the spvp forum and look at how the average spvp feels about the new elites and see how everyone has DH at the bottom. You are smarter then markets, or the crowd or whatever you call the general consensus, though I got it.

stupid comment, i played ranked and unranked and did fine in just both. I guess you dont play the class mechanic correctly. Like i said the lock down potential is good which is why i got the damage off that i did, it wasnt idiots sitting in my aoes it was people locked down in them. Either way your statements dont make sense because in a mid point team fight those aoes cover a majority of the point minus legacy so people are gonna melt whether they are running around or standing. Like i said the DH needs some work but with this past beta i was able to make builds work well.

I found DH is best played in pvp when you preset your traps at your location while you snipe at enemies from afar. Enemies who come close to your location are usually destroyed unless they pop dodges and invul. Ocassionally, if you’re bunking a point, you can also sit on the point and guard it with preset traps, which works wonders on thiefs and mesmers trying to surprise you while stealthed.

I suppose a reason lots of people don’t like the DH spec is because they refuse to preset traps and instead simply want to either use them at melee range or target them like you would consecrations, but I can see how being able to target traps like consecrations could be very broken considering how much damage they can do and what a low CD they have.

The whole point of traps in any context is to have them preset and entice people to run into them. I’m incredibly confused by people who insinuate they should be used otherwise.

Traps are useless in pvp, why?
-pets can activate them (there goes your burst)
-50% are range class so they can snipe you from far
-they are easily dodgable because players know that you put traps in front of you while you are hiding behind a point
-medi DH will laugh at your face using virtue of courage while charging your traps – and kill you in 10 sec.

traps should pulse regen and protect on activation. than you could do some nice things….maybe…….not.

I didn’t have any problems at all with medi guards or ranged classes while running DH traps. I’m sure you’ll tell me it was because the teams i’ve fought sucked, of course.

Ranged classes were easy to deal with using wall of reflection and the new shield of courage. Aside from thf, this was the second class i facerolled the most.

I will concede to you that classes with lots of blocks and invulnerability have an easier time surviving traps, unless my traps are already off CD when they engage in which case they probably die.
