The Staff Nerf
No reason I can thing of. It’s feels awful now in combat and its completely strange to have 300 range main attack. It’s definitely not a ranged weapon anymore. Guardians now only have scepter for ranged—most unfortunate.

I recently came back to gw2, i saw the firebrand, loved the idea of supporting with tomes and mantra’s and wanted to make a build with it, then i noticed the staff nerf…
Im not saying its not justified, what i hate is that the base guardian has 0!!!! i repeat 0 ways to play along the event kills. I cant even get a kill of because the lack of aoe and range skills….Anet please undo the change or re invent the whole staff giving it a option to aoe loot with a decent range.
Scepter is poor to say the least, it divides the damage between targets, the symbol is 900 range, too less for events to get a tag of, cause the damage is divided, so not enough damage for loot what so ever…
Ooh and another thing, remove the cast time from spirit weapons, making it instant justifies the 900 range…otherwise make it 1200 range and make it so we can decide where we drop it…this gives the guardian the aoe it deserves

And worse? The rest of the darn skills are 1200 range except for the auto attack. Anet can’t make up their minds on the staff’s role…

Do you think longbow in any way is comparable to staff and used in the same scenarios and game modes?
I dont see the use for a staff on a DH build tbh just as i dont see any longbow ever to be used on a guardian.
Even if AA on staff would have been buffed to 1200 range it won’t be op at all imo. So i really don’t get this 300 range nerf …
Please, Anet, buff aa to 1200 range and you can lower its dmg a bit, if you really need to.

Nade kit was nerfed to 900 range long time ago, but to some degree the lazy flamethrower is the new lootstick on engi now.

Grenade is finger killer, and terrible at tagging foes above 600 range lolz.
The better “loot stick” right now is thief’s shortbow.
They bounce further and shoot at rapid pace.

If they make it 1200, might as well change the cone attack arc same as Druid’s staff.
They both have terrible dps, so it’s ok for them to hit 1200 range while ignore every projectile blocks and hit a long range.
Also staff’s damage is never the problem, the problem is Permeating Wrath makes condition staff build too strong in wvw. No matter how you nerf the damage of staff 1, Guardian’s passive aoe burning proc will always trigger.
