I’m running condi guard and having pretty solid success against everything but warriors. Doesn’t even seem to matter what build, because they all run resistance/stab/sig of might.

i can’t pressure them worth kitten, and they chew through my defensive CDs in 10s. They have more mobility, so i can’t run. They have resist, so i can’t blind/immobilize. They have stab so i can’t knockback. And signet of might, because they needed to be unblockable for some reason. So i’m left with no way to mitigate the bullkitten. other than dodge the bursts, is there really anything i can do or should i just swap chars when i see two warriors?

Thank you!

ur figthing a class that has alot of anti-condition.. and your are using conditions to fight that class.

Try to avoid figthing a class thart counter yours.

Camping torch might be the worst idea too. As Aeolus said, you don’t have the upper hand. My advice would be to store the burning stacks and try to kite them, swapping torch for focus can help you survive the F1. Elite can work too, even if you have unused virtues.
IF warriors can’t land F1 they don’t heal much, yet they will resist all the duration of your condis.

you’re playing a gimmick build that has hard counters, with warriors being one of those.

so either change your build or turn the other direction and rotate to another node.

Although my fights vs. warriors have primarily been as power-DH, I think the following advice will still help you:

  • Don’t waste your dodges. Warriors beat guardians by wasting their dodges then throwing on resistance + might signet and bursting them down. Dodges are your only real defence against warriors who are running might signet + berserker stance.
  • Start the battle off with blinds and blocks. It is unlikely they will immediately start off with berserker stance/might signet. This is a good time to sneak in those defensive measures that you won’t be able to use later on once they are ready to burst you.
  • Always save at least 1 stun-breaker. If a warrior is in melee range of you and f3 and JI/CoP are all on cooldown you’re probably screwed (use RF if you find yourself in this situation). One headbutt and you’ll quite literally go from 100-0 hp fast. Even a shield bash burst combo will drop you a good 30-50% hp.
  • Watch for might signet. As soon as you see that fist symbol of the signet appear above their heads, dodge (if they’re in melee range) and create some distance with a gap-opener. Don’t try and fist-fight a warrior who has both might signet and berserker stance up.
  • Try to keep a distance of about 300-600 between you and the warrior. Warriors know that vs. guards, if they don’t keep their distance after all stances are on cd, they’ll go down fast too. At this point, they like to retreat out of your effective attack range and wait on some CDs. Don’t let them do that.
  • Try your best to predict their f1 bursts. This comes with experience. If you can deny them the f1 bursts even every other time, you should be able to wear them down over time.
  • Save your CCs: maybe throw a simple CC out earlier on if you have one to get rid of their passive balanced stance proc. Save your CCs until after they have blown berserk mode/endure pain. This may have to wait until much later into the battle (maybe 30-40s).

Some of the best advice I’ve ever seen. But seriously learn to react to skull grinder, predicting it will never be enough.

You don’t.

Warrior is king supreme of 1v1 alongside thief. They have too much sustained damage+ burst and shorter cd damage evasion skills.

I don’t know whose idea it was to give warriors 10 seconds worth of damage immunity, part of that being an auto-trigger on low health, on top of condition immunity and some of the highest healing per second while in an offensive build.

Warrior weaponskills also have ridiculously low cd’s.

So you’re kinda screwed because their autos hit you hard, their 6 sec cd skills hit you even harder, and they have double your base HP pool so their tolerance for burst is greater than yours.

I’m also using this build because is really funny to play and if you find an enemy without too much condi clean and defensive skills you can kill him having a good fight.
The problem about warriors is that they already counter the basic DH (signet of might grant them a free way to burst us down easy and fast passing through our blocks and locking us down with an insane amount of CC), if you add that he can be totally immune to conditions for 15 seconds (and clean your burn with every F1 spam), you find a class that will never be killed by a condi guardian.

Try to kite and flee, use the enviroment to keep you safe from the enemy hits, look if he’s using the signet of might to know if you can use your block skills or when use it.
You need to wait for 15 seconds before you’ll be able to inflict any damage, blind or immobilize the warrior. if you do, you have few seconds to burst him down before the heal signet recharge. if the enemy have block skills or keep you stunned, you’ll lose your damage window and be unable to inflict any damage.

Basicly, if you see a warrior change your way. if he chase you, flee faster as you can.

To add to this awesome list,

  • use your F2 to kite and widen the gap after he closes with greatsword and changes to x/shield. This makes it harder for him to land his shield stuns.
  • save your spear+TOF and pull for when he uses his shield block. I’ve not met a warrior who dodged after using shield block lol…of course, make sure he has no stability on before you pull. If he has stability on, you can still spear him to slow him down so he doesn’t get close to you that easily.

it’s an easy fight on power DH, but hahahaha burn is not gonna be easy.

i’d love to say burst him after zerker stance is over, but warrior clears a condi on weapon swap & has heal sig resistance too. so yeah, it’s not gonna be easy to kill them.

the previous tips others have listed will help you staying alive, but man killing them is going to be the hard part. try to cover your burn stacks as best you can & dodge the f1. good luck man, you’re gonna need it.
