The title says it all, I would like to create a human or norn guardian (male) and I cannot decide.
The thing is mainly because of aesthetics: on one hand, the norn looks quite imposing, the human on the other hand has that air of a “sacred warrior”, like a paladin in other games. I had a look at armors, animations, etc. and I like both of them pretty much, but the norn has the size and the human the cultural armor set (which looks awesome IMO). Can someone who has a guardian of these races tell me how does it feel to play your guardian, and which is the image they inspire?. Screenshots are very welcome if it is possible to post them on the forums.

If you want to take, control and lead a fight in WvW; Norn.
If you’re awesome; Charr.

Hard to target, smallest Asura possible, i do notice become the snow leopard from the Norn racial list is an amazing escape mechanism. Stealth and the massive speed boost to tear off across the map, the human racials are underwhelming, in fact ive never used any of them on my human classes(thief, mesmer).

Depends on a couple of things here, if you are looking at it from a purely aesthetics angle maybe go the human(they do have some nice armors), if you are looking to maybe do a bit of small man or solo in WvW id go Norn for the become the snow leopard option.

As has been said, if you are going to be a tanky Guardian leading the fight in WvW, be the tallest Norn you can. That way everyone can see where you are.

Also the Norn Elite Become the Snow Leopard can give you Stealth, which is not usually available to Guardians. It can be helpful if you need to scout/patrol/sentry in WvW.

Or high tail it away from a ninja zerg out of no where when you are solo flipping a camp.

Been in that situation more then once, I pop snow leopard, stealth, and use that ridiculously fast and long distance dash to get her out with the fur still neatly on her back.

Oh and I’d post a picture of my norn, but she’s, well, a she and I assume you only want screen shots of males……..although I always recommend female norn personally.

Human personally, Just because Reaper of Grenth will wreck someone’s day in a 1v1 wvw roaming fight lol. Honestly though, unless you are trying to get something that guardians don’t already have, race does not matter. And most of the racial skills are pretty crappy, along with most racial elites having extremely long CDs. (well compared to renewed focus at least)

As people have mentioned, the norn racial elite snow leopard form is ridiculously amazing. I rerolled a guardian after spending 300+ none-returnable gold on my old one on things like a commander icon, T3 cultural armor, etc, just to get snow leopard. Dont make my mistake.

Wow, thank you for the quick responses! I created a norn guardian but he has the wolf spirit racial. Is that adviseable as well?

Well, I have to admit that is indeed a fair point xD in fact, I planned to make both once I had room on my character slots or bought new ones.
Concerning the norn one, I am torn between the wolf and leopard spirit xD even though I have been told that their racial elites are not so good.

If you’re referring to the questions that you get asked during character creation, it doesn’t matter. A norn blessed by wolf can unlock Snow Leapord forme just as easily as a Snow Leapord norn can unlock Wolf Forme.
