Torch 5
Yes! ANet, please rework torch 5. At the very least, remove it entirely so I can’t accidentally hit it. This is a useless skill, and why the torch is so underused in PvP at the moment.
I hope not only torch 5, but shield (both skills) and sword 3 (at least makes it not root).
Just slap some self-condi cleanse on it and it’ll be great.
You forgot to mention that all those hits also procs VoJ, which adds almost as much, if not more, burn damage. Making it cleanse conditions for the caster as well would pretty much completely nullify condition builds vs medi guards(not that I could give less of a crap about that cheese). I vote to keep the damage, but cut the duration of the skill in half.
Single VoJ procs are going to become a lot less useful with the burning changes.
The condition damage has dropped significantly. Making auto-attacks an even better option than currently.
I would pretty much only use Torch 5 to burn inside Shadow Refuge if I had no cleave weapon.
Cut the duration & number of hits in half, keep the damage.
Maybe make it clear 1 condition from the user.
Then it’s fine.

Sword number 3
Mace number 3

I’m worried about this as well.
I hope they take a serious look at ways the guardian applies burning and adjust them, otherwise burn guards are going the way of the dodo.

Its a melee block, but unlike every other melee block in game that continues to block unless struck at melee range it can be ended by ranged attacks at 1200+ range.
As for sword auto number 3, it often misses & can be reflected despite not being labeled ranged.
Sword number 3 also often misses & ends up doing less then the auto. It also doesn’t actually block anything, instead it only absorbs ranged attacks (makes it not work with traits)
As for the shield, well it just sucks outside of very niche situations. (would kill for it to grant AOE AEGIS.)
And sword auto #3 o.o? Zealots defense, like every flurry in the game, roots you and then comes with a bonus. My only gripe is that every other flurry has a build up that CCs the target before the flurry goes down. Cool thing though is that we’ll get an immob on VoJ so landing the flurry won’t be too difficult.
My biggest issue with torch 5 is that nobody cares about it. Even the new torch trait is basicly giving more love to torch 4, because torch 5 is so highly situational that to buff it would just seem weird. It needs to be given some other functionality besides condi cleanse

It’s situational because of the restrictions placed on it (3 target limit that seems to include both allies and enemies, very low range, and insanely long channel time). 9 conditions cleared is not something to scoff at. Without those unnecessary restrictions, it’d be a great ally-cleansing ability and probably even one of the best supportive abilities in the game. Buffs would definitely make it work.
Thety could also add 1 sec burning per hit, considering that burning will be nerfed with the specialization system. This would be a small buff. Now the torch 5 is only a retaliation bomb.
